This makes me want to visit jesus related messageboards and post humorous pictures of melting plastic jesus figures. I wonder if posting pictures of burning US flags is illegal. I'm not even certain if doing it in public is or not actually.

well
i hadn't listened to "ep7" for years... i don't know why, i just wanted to try it again today.
so now i'm listening to it, but it brings me the same impression than years ago. maybe i'll listen to it in its entirety, but just as background music, and because i don't feel like listening to something in particular.

maybe i can't concentrate enough to love it all the time like some people seem to do : |

there are plenty of recursive functions that have no (discovered) closed form--is the recursion what you're referring to as well defined? It's well precisely defined, and furthermore in this case easily handled since a relation can be made between iterations and resolution.. I always hit floating point accuracy limits way before I hit iterations being a problem (and a thorough system would implement it's own >64 bit floating point computation .. )

the number of iterations required to keep the set as well defined as it is when you're viewing, say the full set... the region {[-2,-2],[2,2]}, increases exponentially the further you magnify it. i'd wager that image is at 150-200 iterations. i'd put it at 500-700. the black region is the set, and if you increased the iteration, that would be more clearly defined.
just imo though. as an image it's nice

and I'm saying that at this magnification, the black region will not change at all, and neither will the colorings, which are the standard inner coloring technique of using using f(x) where x is the iteration which cause that point to be proven not in the set.
You can systematically determine (not just eyeballing) whether you need more iterations, which is what I was saying. As is in this case. Shit like this is the foundation of efficient computer graphics (determine how much you have to draw, and then draw (might involve higher subdivisions in some places against the baseline, ignoring others, more in others).

There's nothing to argue. I'm making simple arguments about implementation of rendering algorithms.
As an example I'd like to point out that there is no curved surface, hell there is no _surface_. Anything you touch is vacuous, but my visual perception can't crack this. Similarly using a textured rectangle to simulate a network of revolving sub atomic particles fools a human.
Simalarly more iterations will not change that. that's my point. I'm not saying anything about the bounds of the set being fickle--I'm taking it from an engineering standpoint.
the gavel falls, I'm going out to have a cigarette.
OH SHIT I just realized I don't notice it any more when anus double's his Rs

Sneakattack, I feel compelled to point out that in the USA, if an american flag touches the ground, you are expected to burn it.
I don't know why myself, a canadian, would know this and most americans don't.
