Hello people sorry haven't been around much lately as my
fucking work internet got cut off coz I was being slack but
in that time I wrote an EP.

It's on azloria

and it's called Followed by Ghosts

32 or 33 mins of cutup hiphoppy beaty stuff so far people
have dug it I think so yeah plz take the time to grab the
tracks :)

Hope you like it, oh and I drew the artwork too haha

Nah not really, it's just not all over the place. I like
released to have a concise idea about them this is kinda
hiphoppy.
I'm doing a boc ripoff one and a release of short tracks
some time in the distant future.

i'll judge a book by its cover and say that this ep is
great.

yeah i listened to it and i dig it a fair bit, especially
silent lies and cloak stepping. good stuff!

and i love the artwork eh :p

This is some sick shit, Orange Dust. Some nice rocking tunes
you got going on in this release. A nice consistency of
flexing beats with some bossy melodies. Reminds me of an old
instrumentals mixtape. Again, some sick shit.

p.s. Awesome cover.

working up from latest reply... (bout to get booted off net
by irate mother haha)

Wimp - thanks man! Yeah it's not as plaidy as the last one,
so I dunno I thought people'd be like "Where the fuck are
all the nice melodies?" coz it's kinda edgy. But yea
thanks!

Staplemouth - Cloak Steppin had some problems, to be honest.
I'm still not happy with the levels, but it's the best I
can do. I just liked stealing kool keith for the vocals
haha
Cheers!

Optimus - haha thanks mate yeah I drew that at work on
bloody lines paper, had top scan it and erase the lines,
pain in the ass it was.

Cheers guys!

this ep is very nice indeed.

It's strange because i have a track on my ep called
buzzard.

: )

Anyway, downloading...

As always mate, i am really very impressed by your
skills!!!

I kind of dig it but it isn't quite what i am into really,
so, i am not really in the best place to say anything
really.

Well done though i can't wait to hear what else you have in
store for us a bit further down the line.

: )

r40f - Yeah has vibes 12 dropped? I haven't been around and
I've missed out on a bunch of stuff.

JAroen - yeah I've had a kinda mixed responses, the most
common are "Hey that's cool" "Ew that's weird" and "That
looks like Frank!" (mate of mine).
Thanks for the Prefuse comparison! Heh Prefuse's music is
probably my favourite out of everything at the moment,
hopefully I'm not biting him too obviously...

TehLaw - Haha thanks mate!

Skink - Aw shit I'm biting you too? Essines from WATMM told
me someone already had a track called modus operandi too
(photek?). Sorry! I appreciate that not everyone will like
it, it's a bit rappy. Like I said I have some shitty boc
ripoff tunes done for a different release thing too and uhh
a few little glitchy bits and pieces but not much else at
the moment.

DJ Xammax - cheers :)

This is as good or better than anything I've heard this
year. I love the way you drop cool production tricks in a
way that doesn't overpower that huge grooving hiphop love
muscle. Catchy as fuck. Refreshing.

Have you sent this in anywhere?

offline od_step_cloak from Pleth (Australia) on 2004-08-29 07:13 [#01317234]

Cheers! :)
Yeah I spend ages doing step sequencing and I switch muters
on and off a lot. And sometime when I'm bored I go through
the whole track and switch reverbs on and off randomly ;-)

Nah I haven't sent it anywhere I dunno I don't really do the
whole demo thing. Feel free to tell label owners, but they
can download the fucking thing like everyone else haha
Might change my ways someday, but for now i'm too busy. My
car door won't lock!

offline fleetmouse from Horny for Truth on 2004-08-29 07:23 [#01317237]

Oh GOD he's revealing his secrets! :-) While I have you
talking, I wonder how you structure things in FL - do you
put a bunch of instruments in one pattern then copy it out
and alter it in the playlist like descending stairsteps, or
do you tend to put only one instrument in a pattern and have
shit all over the place in the playlist?

You deserve a solid gold car door!

offline od_step_cloak from Pleth (Australia) on 2004-08-29 07:32 [#01317240]
Points: 3803 Status: Regular

Yep the staircase one I spend a while making 4 bar loops,
everything in the same set of four patterns in a staircase
then i copy them to patterns below and edit them. It's a new
method i started using as of just before the last EP
(bitches and sandwiches)

Haha thanks I actually need an immobiliser too, can I have a
gold immobiliser? And a new battery.

Nah mate!!! You ain't biting me, think about how people have
written songs called fire or something.

It is just a name.

I have stuff up on azloria too man. Check it out if you have
a free minute.

Listened to 1-3 so far and I definately like 3 the best.
You're gifted. 2 at least had some recycled sounds from
bitches and sandwiches if I'm not mistaken not that it
matters.

Have you heard the music from toe jam and earl 1 on genesis?
It's great.

I also think you've definately carved out a unique musical
niche for yourself ie. you're not a "squarepusher rip off"
as you've claimed and others would have a tough time
emulating this exactly. Even the album covers are great.

damn, man. fucking amazing, both your albums. i'll be
listening to these regularly. :)

i'll be looking forward to more od tunes.

Thanks everyone, just bumping, hope no one minds!

Skink -I'm on 56k so it'll take me a while but I'll try and
grab some of yr stuff tonight cheers man!
And yeah I think poison and fire are like the two most
common tracknames ever haha

w M w - Cheers man yeah there'll be some sounds I've used
before, in particular the hiphop drums.
I don't have massive banks of samples, I'm still using my
parents' computer haha

I'd reply individually but I'm not sposed to be on the net
right now (shhh)

Thanks dudes glad everyone seems to be digging it!

Chambre - Hehe I don't think I'll ever be in the scene, man.
I don't have any drive and I hate mailing CDs and I can't be
fucked playing live.

*gets shot down by own lack of work ethic*
