I always get annoyed when someone tells me to stop tapping my fingers. It's funny too, because they say my tapping of my fingers is annoying. |

Same here, If I were in a band I would be the drummer. My brother has a drum set, but I live away at college so the only time I could practice would be the times I visit. So until I get the opportunity to practice, I'll be tapping my fingers on any surface I can find. |

hehe, you guys are sweet. I got the same problem, i'm always banging on everything. When I was small, we had hardwood floors in the kitchen. There were pots hanging from this thing in the middle of the kitchen. Add hyperactive kid, socks, and a chopstick with rubberbands fastened to the end, and a running start. Oh shit, evey pot i hit with that mallet made a different sound. Parents wanted to beat me sensless all the time. Now I just drum anything and everything in sight. Maybe a property of all us fans of beautiful noise? |

Alright cool. Damn Thom must of been listening to every electronic artist of today. Mostly the ones on Warp I think. When I first bought Aphex twin, I didn't know if I would like it, I thought it would be too weird. But Kid A and Amnesiac prepared me, in my opinion they're weirder than Aphex twin. I like them all now. |

VERY FUNNY I'm also ALWAYS tapping with my fingers, or scratching with my nails when I'm on a couch. My mother can't stand it. I'm not annoyed when other people also tap. Possibly I just go tapping with them, like it's a jam. I often got annoyed by MTV, The BOx and TMF. I like music, so I often check out these channels, but the thing I couldn't stand is all of this "trendy" crap and "goggle-vision of the world" going on there. So simplified, like one can't be an individual, but always has to watch the trends to stay happy. But I learned one thing: being annoyed isn't the fault of the "cause", but your own. |

BTW for all those fingertapfreaks: -buy a drumcomputer or a sampler -use softwaresamplers funny: I often create some beats etc and then "key-map" them in GOOD OLD FT2! (I like the fact that I use FT2 as a free sampler) When the loopingsettings are done I can go on for...ehm...well a lot of time pushing the buttons of the pc-keyboard to play the samples, live sequencing is fun! Important: push a button and press lshift at the same time. The loop will be playing untill you push the same button again. |
