Least favorite albums you've ever bought?

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-20 07:08 [#00072429]

You know, I bought the Doors debut album, and I absolutely
hate it... it's crap... like one good song, and that's break
on through... The End is horrible after the first few
seconds... Second place would have to be Big Willie Style...
however I did sell it... :)

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-20 07:10 [#00072434]

you bought a will smith album? wtf?

anyway, i love that doors album. it took me about 3 years to
get into it tho. but there're so many hot joints on that
one. it's hardcore. the highlight for me is "the end" -
perfect song.

AMinal from toronto, canada on 2002-01-20 07:11 [#00072435]

i bought an album by DJ SHADOW (psience fiction or
something like that) just cus i heard that ONE track he did
w/ thom yorke of radiohead..
i hated the album.. like 2 tracks are alright.. the rest i
didn't like at all...

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-20 07:13 [#00072436]

anyway i have an amazing track record with music - over 99%
of what i buy i love. i know music pretty well, i don't make
many mistakes. however, i think the worst cd i ever bought
was the lox album "money, power & respect". sold it tho.
some stuff i liked when i was 13 or 14 like korn i don't
like now and i may sell it some day, but at the moment i
don't remember it well enough to say if it's bad.

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-20 07:13 [#00072437]

DMX - Flesh of my Flesh, Blood of my Blood

the only reedeming quality of this album is that it has a
picture of dmx covered in blood on the cover, too bad its
not his own, and that he's alive.

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-20 07:15 [#00072438]

"psyence fiction" by dj shadow (under the unkle moniker)...
another great album. which 2 do you like? the track with
thom yorke is awesome. i don't like the ones with badly
drawn boy and mike d which seem to be everyone's favorites.
my favorites are 2 of the instrumentals - "unkle main title
theme" and "unreal" (later reworked into "be there" w/ ian
brown) - the one w/ yorke, and the first track, a hardcore
rap song w/ kool g rap. dj shadow is amazing. his best work
is solo tho.

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-20 07:18 [#00072442]

oh yea, i bought that dmx album too. the last one of his i
bought. loved the first album. second was disappointing,
minus 2 or 3 songs. it was street (rather than commercial)
but it just didn't sit right. one of my few bad decisions.

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-20 07:19 [#00072443]

his first album, whatever it was called, wasn't bad, that
track Damian was hot.

AMinal from toronto, canada on 2002-01-20 07:23 [#00072444]

the one w/ thom yorke was wicked (of course) the one w/
richard aschroft was alright..
..but there were to others that i liked (dont remember the
names)

i got it before i was into electronic music so maybe if i
give it a fresh listen ill think diferently now, but i
remember not likeing the sound of it (as in production sort
of) like.. all the drums used the same old sounds.. they
sounded just like big loud rockish drum beats.. (or so i
remember, this was before i was into electronic so i didn't
really know what to expect, or how to listen to/analyze that
kind of music if u know what i mean..)

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-20 07:35 [#00072450]

DEFINITELY give it a spin. i have a 48 cd wallet of my
classics and the album hasn't lost its place in it since
fall 98 when it came out. the one w/ ashcroft is another one
of my alltime faves. and you're right about the rockish
drums - shadow's a sample maniac and he gets most of his
drums from 60s and 70s rock songs.

AMinal from toronto, canada on 2002-01-20 08:21 [#00072463]

yes i definitly thought his beats were too rockish..
if i wanted rock, i would ask for rock!

but i will give it another spin, see if i interpret it
diferently now that i like electronic music

beetlebum on 2002-01-20 11:03 [#00072501]

i was also throughly dissapointed in Unkle's "PF"...
"Endtroducing.." was wicked though...
worst album i ever brought:
- "travelling without moving by jamiroquai
- "mind games" by john lennon
- "lemon parade" by ...cant remember their name.. it wus
shit anyway..
but my other 200+ cds kick total ass..

Jarworski from Wales on 2002-01-20 12:51 [#00072503]

Neo-arshole shit ass fuck shit bitch fuck on 2002-01-20 16:32 [#00072541]

Basement Jaxx-Remedy (i liked red alert) :/

bvd5t4v on 2002-01-20 16:35 [#00072544]

the amateur view by to rococo rot was not very good, was it?

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-20 16:51 [#00072550]

Dingle Berry: Bahaha, that's funny!!!! :)

but yeah, I love most of the cds in my collection... I can
put them on and enjoy them... but there are a few that I
hate, and cannot listen to and The Doors debut is one...
that's probably the only one I despise... I bought a cd by
Shaq, Shaq Diesel, but I only paid a dollor for it, and I
got plenty of laughs from it, so even that one isn't as bad
as the doors... in my opinion...

fjupp on 2002-01-20 17:04 [#00072559]

THE DOORS SUCK ASS AND JIM MORRISON WAS A BAD, PRETENTIOUS
POET/TWAT/ASS/CUNT.

meagain on 2002-01-20 17:04 [#00072560]

sorry, SUCKED ass.

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-20 18:50 [#00072589]

Worst Album I ever got/downloaded was probably ..... its
hard to think of. But it was most likely Drukqs.... recently
that is. I dont know what it is, but its not too exciting
for me at all.

B3n from Sheffield on 2002-01-20 19:10 [#00072598]

Yeah, Main Title Theme is one of the best on it. I don't
like the Badly Drawn Boy track until a lot later on when he
kinda starts mumbling about 'falling in love'. I have
recently got into the bloodstain track and like Chaos of
whatever, with its harsh 80's beats.

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-20 20:22 [#00072631]

2 more that mostly suck.. i've listened to each in their
entirety once:
-basement jaxx 'rooty' (blechhhhh)
-u2 'all that you can't leave behind' (what do people like
so much about this? it's really tepid and recycled, and i
like most of their older albums a lot including 'pop' which
is underrated)

jamiroquai's 'travelling without moving' is actually pretty
good. i own it, i'd never buy another of their albums tho.
good for certain occasions. i've grown out of some of it
since it came out, but still some good songs on it.

Jimmy from DE on 2002-01-20 21:04 [#00072643]

i never bought any bad albums. ever. wait. kriss kross. i
was six. :).

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2002-01-21 00:56 [#00072722]

biggest disapointment i have ever had with music. it was
utter crap,.

m...Mm..w..)M(..w..mM...m on 2002-01-21 00:58 [#00072723]

I bought that same album (sepultura) It wasn't very good.

PERCEPTOR from North Liberty, Iowa on 2002-01-21 01:10 [#00072728]

kid 606-don't sweat the technics...like his other stuff but
this one imo sucks.

wow I can't believe someone mentioned to rococo rot-the
amateur view. that is one of my favorite albums. best stuff
they've done imo.

Justin Schiz from Stamford, Ct., USA on 2002-01-21 03:23 [#00072744]

i love that album

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-21 04:23 [#00072755]

yeah Titsworth, that new one by U2 is something else isn't
it... it's total pop... their other albums are much much
better...

umbriel from quebec...the old on 2002-01-21 04:53 [#00072771]

idiology i great! maybe not their greatest but its a fucking
amazing album.
genesis- trespass. it just didnt do to me what nursery cryme
and selling england by the pound did i guess. it got old and
stale really quickly

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-21 04:55 [#00072772]

Oh my God Umbriel, you like old Genesis too? I like
Trespass, although yeah, it's not as good as their other
stuff...

umbriel from quebec...the old on 2002-01-21 05:02 [#00072775]

i actually listened to the album as a whole only once. maybe
i should listen to it in a different mindset (i was making
veggeburgers and listening to trespass.......). i should
play it one more time but i am just not in a genesis feel
these days, these past weeks lets say.
yes, im into old genesis. i like nursery cryme, selling
england, foxtrot, the lamb, trick of the tail

umbriel from quebec...the old on 2002-01-21 05:03 [#00072776]

but a trick of the tail is not as good as the others....when
peter went byebye, genesis went downhill

Intruder from chicago on 2002-01-21 08:24 [#00072837]

Pigface- Feels like Heaven, Sounds Like Shit...Bought it
many moons ago. i was so pissed that it was crap i literally
threw it out of my car.

Recently?
I like to try alot of new stuff, like if i see a cool
looking cover or a kick ass name of a band, i'll pick it up
without even knowing who the hell it is.
I discoverd BOLA that way.
Most recently though, i was a bit pissed that JEGA's newest
album "geometry" isnt near as good as Spectrum.

And just the other day i bought this PHOTEK single for "mine
to give" or some shit.
IT IS FUCKING HORRIBLE. its like C+C music factory style
dance with some cheeky bastard actually SINGING in the
background. what happend to PHOTEK?

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-21 17:10 [#00073003]

yeah, Genesis with Phil Collins sucked... although I do
really like Trick of the Tail... Selling England is the
best... in my opinion...

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2002-01-21 17:28 [#00073005]

Dancing With the Moonlit Knight and Carpet Crawlers are
