Im sittin here listening to Gangstarrs "Moment Of Truth"
for the thousant time.
Man! his beats always goes straight to my heart.
There is no better hip hop producer out there.
He is the man hip hop artists hire when they want to take it
back to the streets , back to the essence , the core.
A living legend.

Praise him people!!

Also what is your alltime favorite Premo beat ?

Mine is probably Common "The 6th Sense" .

i love premier... definitely one of my faves... my fave off
the latest gang starr is Right Where U Stand, with the
sweet-assed bristling with energy guitar line... if i had to
choose a favourite beat overall, it would be pretty tough,
because i know he's worked on a lot of albums, alongside
other wicked beatmakers like Jaydee (like on that Common
album), and i don't always know who did which tracks... i
must definitely give respect for his work on Illmatic... i
love Memory Lane...

Daily Operation AND Hard to Earn are amazing.

Primo has some incredible beats on No More Mr. Nice Guy and
Step in the Arena as well. The problem is that these albums
really sound dated. If you're into that old-school sound
then check them out as well.

depends how old skool... i love anything that reminds me of
midnight marauders or low-end theory... anything older is
really hit and miss with me...

Get Daily Operation and work your way back.

Also a must, which has recently been rereleased, is O.C.'s
Word...Life. If you love early Tribe - get that one.

DJ Premier has produced a few entire albums most notably:

Pretty much every Gang Starr album.
Jeru the Damaja's first two LPs.
Group Home - Livin Proof.

Obviously I would get the tracks people have suggested
first. Then I would get Wrath of the Math by Jeru and Daily
Operation by Gang Starr.

i just put on sun rises in the east, must have been 8 years
since i last heard it, i had completely forgoten about it.
the fact that i'm drunk could have something to do with the
fact i cried. this album was very important to me when it
came out, i realise this now. cheers Sido .

some of my favorite premo beats:
biggie - unbelievable

gangstarr - mass appeal
k-def - grand groove
east flatbush project - tried by 12
royce da 5'9 - boom
d.i.t.c. - thick
pushim - set me free

that group home album has some ill beats on it too (despite
the shitty emcees)

"the 6th sense" is a master piece.
someone knows WHERE the sample comes from?
i'm really searching for it.
thx

also amasing:
DITC (Diggin' In The Crates) - thick

i recommend
"DJ Premier-The Crates Vol.1" (probably not a commercial
release)
it contains a lot of original tracks sampled by primo.
