r u willing to pay over 100 dollars for the album if it
couldn't be ripped into mp3 (or any other audio format). i
think i'd start saving up if the reviews were good. probably
silly but thats how much i adore their music especially from
ep7 and up.

If they put out a 100 dollar album, I would yell nasty words
to them

for sure.
so long as it wasnt a rip off type situation.
like if the only way to get it was to buy it for that price,
not like i could buy it at some other shop for 12.99
also even if i had the choice between drop 100 dollars on
the album, or download it from the internet for free.
i would buy it.
i mean not if it was bad.

I'd buy it for that price even if it was mp3'd

all sound is recordable, how could they make it 'mp3-proof'?

its hypothetical. like lets say record companies are able to
sell unburnable cds where it forces the consumers back to
the old record buying routine. the closest i've seen to mp3
proof are cd enhanced albums that only read video once
inside the pc but doesn't read the audio tracks but is still
capable of playing the music. i'm sure theres a way around
extracting the audio format of enhanced albums but i dont
know how maybe someone else whos more knowledgable in the
subject matter is capable of sharing their take on it.

I'd be more inclined if it was Garbage II.

well, i mean, i can play the music from that 'enhanced' cd
into a sound editing program, and just encode it like that,
see what i'm saying? you can't control sound, unless they
figure out some sound frequency that will only 'appear' when
you copy the sound, kind of like trying to photocopy
something with a watermark.

Envane II??

Autechre don't seem to be the types of blokes that would do
sequels..

You are correct. I wasn't even aware they existed.

As for n00b...well, I'm [0323]. I am a rather grey and
wrinkled old chap.

what would u prefer i called the album 'an album that is
going to be a continuum of envane II i dont know the name of
it but i assure u it wont be envane II so that it will not
disrupt the delicate nature of deepspaces ball sack'

I don't think the name of said album is the problem, more
the ridiculous amount of money you'd be willing to fork over
for it.

offline ChildrenTalking from United States on 2004-08-24 13:09 [#01313352]

its an investment qrt i'm not going to just fork over a
hundred bucks. anywho i think its worth it to hear at least
5 or 6 solid tracks by them especially after listening to
Draft if i expect quality and craftsmenship to the likes of
Envane. i would not hesistate for one second. autechre owns!
:)

wouldn't pay the money? Nice!
