talking about delivery, i had ordered 4 CDs at amazon.com
(in one single command) and today i received:

• a HUGE package (which could have contained several dozen
CDs) containing 3 of the CDs i ordered and an empty plastic
bag. to this huge cardboard package was attached a little
plastic thing containing four custom tax notices from the
french post which weren't clear at all (three with the same
"[sub-total] €11 + €3 = [total] (blank)" thing, and one
which was just blank with nothing written on it)

• a small normal case containing the 4th CD i had ordered.

the higher the value of the total order, the bigger the
chance you´ll have to pay import tax.

qrter > yeah... so ordering many items at once to spare
shipping costs isn't such a good idea after all... = /

(well, even if i have to pay this tax, i think it's still
less expensive than if i had bought the CDs at local stores
- since the prices of the CDs are lower in the USA
apparently, and the dollar is weak...)

could you get in trouble if you shipped a box full of
spiders to someone who was arachnaphobic?

..via UPS of course.

I believe you're dealing with the Segestriidae genus if you
live anywhere near Central or Eastern Europe,.......

their epigyne is not externally chitinized, so you may
easily squish it if you wish to.

otherwise, i'd just do the old cover and slide trick
mentioned above.......

Have you seen any of it's nests or webs? They should look
like little tubes or tunnels, and not webs,....
but I may be wrong depending on where you live....

No need to worry,.....spiders are our friends and will not
attack unless provoked......
.......
(....unless part of your body exhibits the exact likeness of
an insect)

offline ziggomatic from ??....uv ajed...deja vu....?? on 2004-08-24 12:33 [#01313321]

You may even be dealing with an endangered or threatened
species of spider, again, depending on where you live, so
you may want to let it live.....

i rarely kill spiders. i do kill bees when they get in my
house, because they like to sting me on the face. it's a
fact.

I stepped on a catapillar once when I was in the first
grade. I remember the exact location, time of day, and the
crunching sound it made under my shoe. Scared me for life it
did.

their epigyne is not externally chitinized? that's not
weird at all. quite common, actually...

Horsefactory, keep me updated on this situation. You should
put TV cameras in your house and air the footage on TV. Just
think of the ratings when the public finds out that theres a
huge spider throwing sexy parties in house owned by a human
who's too scared of the spider to evict him.
