no, i'm gonna sit here wanting it

i'm gonna spend £900 on building a PC that will play DOOM3
at high res and fast fps

but if i won the lottery, i'd have one

ahh yes doom 3 :D

im not all up to date on this, and you might know..
do you know if the xbox version will have many drawbacks
compared to the PC version?

offline oscillik from the fires of orc on 2004-08-16 02:39 [#01305848]
Points: 7746 Status: Regular | Followup to Gwely Mernans: #01305847

yes, there are some drawbacks

from the screenshots i've seen, the graphics are nowhere
near as good as what they could be on a PC.

but i'd guess it's certainly playable.

thing is though, i've noticed that a lot of console games
these days (especially graphically intense ones) have
moments of juddering, and slowdown - that'd seriously piss
me off, and if played on a PC at least you have the
opportunity to upgrade the graphics card to even it out

but that's my pro-PC bullshit

lol

the X-Box version, from what i've heard should definitely be
out by December

this thread has sort of turned into another DOOM one, but i
dont think its ruined, because the threads name can also
suit DOOM 3

heh

i can't believe i'm gonna have to wait at least 3 or 4
months before i can play it!
that's how long it's gonna take me to save up the money for
it (or wait until a Mac version comes out....even then
there's no guarantee it'll run on my ShitBook)

I'm going to make a game based on a movie that I'll make
after I made the game, and it shall be called "Quoggle."

It's about these german people that decide to capture all
the fish on the planet and train them to become a deadly
army of.. fish, but then their plans will be foiled by some
people from northern Venezuela, who have this special skill
that enables them to eat a neverending amount of raw fish.

well people on doomworld.com seem to think it's good enough

Drunken Mastah

that game would be worthy of the accolade

oscillik, don't get started with "guns" with these people.

They don't have the mental capacity to understand that some
people have guns for target practice and/or hunting.

Wow, that site has some pretty wild things on it... a 10
foot tall replica of a Warrior Alien? A 10,000 life size
Robocop statue, with removable helmet? A 15,000 bronze
statue of Yoda?

I really want the Metal Gear Solid guns... Socom, FA-MAS,
etc... and they're actually pretty affordable! I seriously
might look into it.
