dad's side: my great-great-grandfather was Swedish, his name was Johann August Svensson, and changed his name to Gus Young when he came to America. Uncoincidentally, this is my name as well. I recently discovered this when stumbling upon a family tree at my grandfather's house, no joke. I also believe there is Native American blood somewhere in my family - as many people in my family are born with darker skin than others, including my younger brother. However, i would have to dig with deeper research to confirm that. Mom's side: Likely British, since my older sister discovered a crest for the Bland family doing some research for a family tree for school. Though once again, I can't confirm that. So, half-Swedish, half-British. |
