George Lucas against colorizing classics.

In an interview with the AP, George took the time to show
his opposition to colorizing black-and-white movies for
rerelease. The debate sprung from two Three Stooges DVDs
heading for market with colorized versions available on the
disks.

Lucas: "Would color distract from their comedy and make
it not as funny anymore?" Lucas said. "Maybe just the fact
that they're in black and white makes it funny, because
their humor is dated. But by putting it in black and white,
it puts it in a context where you can appreciate it for what
it was."

What a big fat hypocrite he is , fucking up his own classics
and all.
Shame on him.

NO !

i like the old school thinking of Mr. Lucas, also, he didnt
"fuck up his own classics and all", he just updated them to
his liking

it again, me dressed up as darth vader, circa 1980ish

HE fucked them up!
He is as subtle as a horny elephant when it comes to CGI.
Raping his own masterpieces.

No , the evil Empire consists entirely of men.

But it was Eve that took a bite in the apple , not adam!!!

i agree about him fucking up his own classics... i don't
think i'm even going to bother buying the dvd's. Why
couldn't he just release the originals re-mastered instead
of the stupid added cgi versions where everything looks
fake? Don't even get me started on the retarded edit to the
Greedo scene!

Alien was released on DVD with directors cut AND the

its a trap?

despite my above statement about the trilogy, empire strikes
back is a classic movie, and if he does, somehow, manage to
fuck it up, i will most displeased.

He gave some good arguments as to why it should not be
colorized, but that doesn't justify the emasculation of
great Star Wars movies.

Personally, I love black and white, the ''context'' works
for me, just like Georgey... but I've got no problem with
colorization, we've come a long way and can make them look
pretty darn authentic, unlike 15 years ago. I'll still stick
with the genuine article, no sweat off my sack.

Would be cool to see a big effects movie with loads of cgi
made in grainy black and white.
