 | in the last month, i've had about 3-4 races worth mentioning. i usually post long, detailed stories, but i
don't feel like typing much right now.

my car: porsche 951. few mods. 270 hp, 290 lb/ft. torque.

dec. 22 (my birthday)- i was headed out of town with my
sister and my friend down to santa fe (50 miles away) for
last minute christmas shopping and to get myself a birthday
present. as we make our way out of town, i see a yellow
integra. me and my friend immediately think "could this be
the elusive type-R?". it was. had larger than stock wheels,
subtle stickers near the wheel wells. i hung out behind him
until we made our way out of town and onto the main hill. i
get to the bottom, where we both start to take off. i pass
him and take it up to maybe around 90 mph. let him start to
catch up, then i downshift again and take off. the race was
basically me waiting for him to catch up so i could take
off. repeat process a few times. i'm not surprised that i
beat him. i'm assuming he was stock. my car is also factory
turbocharged and has those nice porsche gears going for it.
i assumed he would've done slightly better though because my
car stock, is 2900 lbs. his is 2600? i had an extra 300 lbs
 due to my passengers.

last week? - me at stoplight with my sister, honda civic in
left lane. girl driver, automatic tranny, 2 friends. and
it's a civic, but i could've sworn it was an integra when it
first pulled up (it was fairly dark out). no intentions of
racing, until the girl tried to jump the light. as always, i
wait until the green. i take off and get a little sideways
down the road because it's cold and my tires are worn. i zip
down the road and onto the bridge. the light up ahead is
red, so i slow. civic girl doesn't and catches up, passing
me, until i downshift. i could've sworn she was going to run
the light too. light goes green, i put it in first, catching
up. can't do anything though because the road is now one
lane with no passing. down the road i fly by her when the
road is dotted line. after that, she'd just tailgate me
(obviously she doesn't have enough power to pass me) this
race and mucking around took place for about 10 miles. my
sister has a class with the civic girl and told her it was
us racing her that night. i wasn't surprised that i beat her
and neither was she. she's been insisting that her
supercharged pontiac grand prix or grand am or whatever is
faster, but i know it's not. i'm not proud of beating a
civic, i'm just glad i got to race.

this weekend (saturday)- i was cruising down to santa fe
with my sister and her friend with some new wheels crammed
in the back of my car (i was getting new tires). i see some
red lump up the road and decide to catch up. it was a riced
out eclipse. 2nd? generation or whatever the smooth ones are
that aren't the newest ones, like 1995 year or something. GS
model. just by the looks of this guys car i figured he'd be
up for a race. hmmm...he had a big sticker on the back
window that said "Team Viscious" (some local car club. 5
lame points in my book for that) brake light stickers or
covers that made "mitsubishi" appear when you braked (5 more
lame points) an ugly orange-red paint job, lowered, some
ackward looking spoiler, lots more stickers on the front
windshield. overall, the guy gets about 15-20 lame points
from me. anyways, i catch up and zip by at around 80 mph. i
slow down up the road and i see him doing what appears to be
speeding up. apparently, he is. i wait for him, then get
down into 4th gear, taking it up to about 120. the occurs
for about a mile or 2 until we start to get into town, where
i lay off (somewhat). i dont want to be running into in vans
with a family of five and careening off the road into an
orphanage, thus setting on fire. i let the guy pass and i
give him a thumbs up, but he gives me the "at least my car
looks more "tite" than yours" look (or something to that
extent) in town we're kind of spaced out, but i shoot
forward through traffic just to get around some cars. the
next intersection the light is red. i'm in the middle lane,
he's in the right. my lane was free until putted up in front
of me. left lane was free, but i didn't take it. i was just
under the impression that he wouldn't race now because i had
already beat him. i'm behind him and the light turns green.
he didn't take off fast (i don't think) so i just hung out
behind him. i regret not taking the free lane next to him at
 the stop light.

i've been averaging about a race a week these days. it's
rather nice i suppose. send me your lobsters, folks!

 | not yet. i'm as fast, if not faster than an SS. i had 6 races on friday though. one was definately awesome, with the
two of us side by side, flying down the road at 130+ mph.
i'll probably make another post about that.
