Any compression is data lossy!
Why not buy a DVD-burner and burn a DVD?

Then split your compilation and burn 2 MP3-CDs

that was the first initial thought, and i thought on one
disc, ambience, on the other dance...

but autechre blends the two and i got all confused when
classifying them for each mix.

just make it better. lose albums i say. because id burn just
albums. because it'd be bad if you burn a the 'hits' and the
guy cant get into the harder songs anymore when he likes it

not all compression formats are lossy

Uhhh

well if yer mp3s are at like

I duno, 256kbit, you can COMPRESS them to 190 or 160 etc and
shouldn't really notice any loss in quality.

So technically, yes you sure as hell can compress them.

how the fuk can you NOT fit all the "best" autechre songs on
one 700mb CD (in mp3 format)

you shoul dbe able to get like 7full cds on 1 mp3 cd-r.

Dood....don't give him too much, he wno't know what to do
with all the music at first.

you haev to give the mouse a cookie, so later on he will
come back and ask for a glass of milk.....

Cool Edit Pro 2.0 can do Batch File Converssions

look in the File menu, then just add the files to the
list, choose format (mp3) and sample rate and go go go!

any compression surely fucks up autechre's music. it
actually changes the music.

Booth and Brown themselves can't stand to hear their music
as mp3, it really irks them to have the idea that people
hear it like that.

Word of warning: don't listen to the hafler trio in mp3
format, no matter how hi-quality.
