my theory: 'last' traces back to an old english word meaning 'footprint'.. the number five, according to talmudic mysticism, represents grace. 25 is 5 * 5, hence grace squared. finally, 'messages' is obviously a reference to hermes, the herald of the olympian gods. hermes had winged sandals, which, since he was flying, wouldn't touch the ground, and therefore not leave a footprint. the meaning now emerges: the graceful footprint is the nonexistant one, which echoes the buddhist wisdom that grace is found in non-being.
