slow for me anyways :9(

do you know anything about lustmord ?
it says they are industrial pioneer gods, with the likes of
throbbing gristle.....

yeah rockin' his voice seems a tad different in this one

i know - buzz's voice is getting rougher and rougher. still
on key of course, but more scream-y neurosis-sounding. i
love it.

i don't know anything more than you do about lustmord. i
went to his site and read the bio. i know someone else on
this board mentioned him recently...

i think this album will be totally awesome. i like this
track more every time i hear it.

do you have H.A.T. (Hostile Ambient Takeover)? if not, i
highly recommend it. it's their most recent full-length of
new material. it's a pretty good album for people who
haven't heard the melvins, because it's got a bit of
everything - very fast stuff, very slow stuff, weird
experimental bass playing and extended solos(!)... and it's
produced well, so it is perhaps more accessible than some of
their more experimental (production-wise) recordings.

* i know that you (recycle) have heard the melvins, but i
meant in general, if anyone else reads this thread and is
interested in the melvins, etc...

i dont have HAT, i ordered it and the store is holding it
for me, but i havent had the spare cis-ash to get it :(

dude, the melvins tickets are like $15.00, then another
$6.00 for ticketmaster charges, then if you pay by credit
card (at the store, not online) its like another $3.00

they are totally dickin' the folks :(

so im gonna hav ethe record store owner here in town, who
lives in omaha get me a ticket

was it silly of me to expect something ambient sounding?

ticketmaster always sucks, but it's a small price to pay for
the best rock concert around. i would pay twice as much for
the melvins. i've seen them play many times, and it has
consistantly been mind-blowing.

the melvins don't usually make ambient music, but they do
dabble in it on the album Honky, one of their most
experimental albums.

Hostile Ambient Takeover is 100% non-ambient.

i found a link to a low-quality stream of another great song
off this album: streaming, 96k, m3u - the song is called, "Pink
Bat".

this album is going to ROCK! i can't wait to get it.

it's part of a radio broadcast, so there's a few seconds of
some other song first and then weird noises start and that's
the melvins.

i finally got this record today, and it definitely doesn't
disappoint!

it really should be called Melvins + Lustmord + Adam Jones,
because he plays some mean guitar on this album (you can
hear that signature tool sound). another nice surprise was
guest appearance by dave scott stone, who has appeared on
some previous melvins albums.

half of this is heavy, hard and fast rock and half is
ambient/soundscapes. and i mean to say that some songs
contain both styles (for instance the title track - a
22-minute, rapidly-changing collage of rock and ambient
sounds). very interesting combination - almost like a
collision between the bootlicker and honky albums. the
production of this album is very different as well.

there's not much i can say other than it's really great -
it's melvins - it's lustmord - it's adam jones.

yeah, it kind of shocked me at first, but once you get into
it, it's really great. i picked up the double vinyl version
of this as well. i like the sound of the vinyl version more
(it's warmer and crackles because it's vinyl), but don't buy
it for any other reason than that. the advertised "bonus
track" is just a slightly different mix of one of the songs
on the album. that was a bit disappointing.

i discovered the Melvins with Stoner Witch just a few months
ago actually, and i love them so far. i hope it won't grow
old fast to my ears (i've been listening to Stoner Witch so
much, i always fear this to happen)!

thinking of getting another collaboration which sounds
interesting, on Ipecac too: "She" by Maldoror... featuring
Mike Patton and Masami Akita (Merzbow). just saw it at the
record store the other day, i didn't buy it because it was
really expensive but it might be very interesting.

i have to admit, i did overplay stoner witch just like you.
:) don't worry, because there's like a million other
melvins albums and they're all just as good in my book.

i like maldoror. it's sort of like harsh noise with
cartoonish sounds. it sounds like merzbow with mike patton
for sure. :)
