After watching The Jerk recently, I was reminded of how
great this guy is!

Everyone likes Steve Martin!

Hooray for the Steve!

steve martin depreciation thread:

a thread dedicated to how the quality of mr martin's work
has declined over the course of his career. he hasn't done
anything good for well over a decade.

i thought bowfinger was hilarious, when eddie murphy starts
freaking out in the parking garage because he hears
footsteps but doesn't know where its coming from. i swear
to god that must've been one of the funniest things i've
ever seen in my life.

I also thought that Bowfinger was fantastic - witty and
clever. Steve Martin does seem to take a lot of shit, but
he has made some great films - oddly, I have watched heaps
recently - The Jerk, The Man WIth Two Brains, Sgt. Bilko,
Roxanne, Planes Trains & AUtomobiles, Dead Men Don't Wear
Plaid.... I have thoroughly enjoyed his performance in each
film, and think he is a pretty great guy... I also think
John Candy Rawks.

another funny part in the movie was when he has eddie
murphy's twin brother run across the highway. and when he
hunts down his movie crew on the mexican border into the
back of his van omg that part was hilarious, for god sakes
the enemy of the film was rain hahah that was it chubby rain
hahahha that movie rocks.

movie :D

the jerk has to be one of his greatest films. i think the
one of the funniest things steve has ever done on film was
in that movie particularly in the part he becomes poor
again and starts to scream out he doesn't need anything.
then he reluctantly starts to grab the most obselete objects
goes back to denying he needs anything and goes back to
grabbing more things. he's a genius i think.

Steve Martin is great.. I recently watched "dead men don't
wear plaid".. pretty good..

Juliette Forrest: What does "Foc" mean?
Rigby Reardon: It's a slang word. When a man and a
woman are in love, the man puts his--
Juliette Forrest: No, no. Here: "F. O. C."

I like, enormously, The Lonely Guy and The JErk. And Dirty
Rotten Scoundrels. And his stand-up concert filmed in, oooh,
I don't know, '77? Something like that. "He's dead, he spoke
French!"

I guess I like steve as a person more than his body of work.
Loved the Jerk, though.
