Just got two emails from my girlfriend, both just said back what I'd said in a previous email. One said "Fuck You." the other said "Stop bullshitting me". There was nothing offensive in either e-mail. I can honestly say I haven't done or said anything to upset her and can't work out why she'd do this (She's never sworn at me before). It's to late to call her and I think if I just turn up at her house tommorow she'll be really angry. I fell physically sick and can't sleep. I'm really worried. |

What sequence of events do you think may have lead to this Ceri? Does she have a mobile that you could 'text' her on? Failing that, your best bet is to go round about 9.00am tomorrow morning - I don't think there is anything else really that you can do at this time of night! |

I still haven't managed to speak to her, but I did get some sleep. I want to go and see her today, but I have to finish some work first as it's part of a group assignment and if I don't my housemates could fail a module. |

Oh dear, it was one of her friends. It's about something that happened a while ago she's just found out about. She is going away for a few days anyway, so maybe she'll have calmed down by the time she gets back. I feel a lot better about it having had some sleep. |

Just an update, we're finished. The best two years of my life ended. She's going absolutley mad, leaving obscene messages on my answerphone and saying things shes going to do to get me back. This really doesn't look like a clean break, more a "be seriously concerned for your life" job. I really loved her- I still do. No second chance. She's going mental and still won't actually meet me face to face. She's told her mum not to let me in the house and is asking for the key back in the post. Oh dear. |

I became close friends with her best mate while she was away. It was completley innocent, we used to play gameboy advance games together. One time I was over her (single roomed) flat and I realised how late it was (about 1am) My flat mates would have bolted the front door and I didn't want to ring and wake them up. She said I could stay there, I was going to sleep on the floor, but she said I could, "share [her] bed, I won't rape you or anything." I grudgingly agred (this was still totally innocent, we didn't do anything). I woke up a while later and she was rubbing my hair. She said I looked like I was sleeping badly and that she thought it would calm me down. There was still no signs of anything untoward. One of (I can't recall who, I was half asleep) us hugged the other and drifted of to sleep. When I next regained conciousness We were running our hands over each other's backs. She said "Sorry" and started crying. Once I'd woken up properly I realised how bad what we'd done was (note my girlfriend is very liberal and has shared a bed in a non sexual way with a male friend whilst she's been going out with me). I think what pissed her off was we agreed not to tell her (but then the girl did anyway, a few months later (now)) I only did this because no matter how I tell it it sounds sexual. It wasn't until the last 1/2 minute or so and then we stopped hugging and I slept on the floor the rest of the night. Understandably it looks a lot worse for having kept it a secret and she's going mad. I want her back already, but I don't think it's going to happen. |

sounds like she's done exactly the same thing as you, but she's got the hump cos she told you about it when it happened and you never said anything when you did it. i mean you were in a bed with another woman and all you seem to have done is had a little fondle, natural instinct if you ask me. the way she's going off her head though it sounds like the other woman has made it out like you fucked all night long. tell her that what she done sounds sexual too. sounds like the other woman might be throwing a spanner in the works to get to you. just take it easy, have a good wank for a few days then speak to eachother when both your heads are settled. if you cant sort it out, just get back out there and do some shagging, you'll probably realise you've been getting down over nothing, plenty of fish and all that!! |

well man, that's really too bad... my advice is to get your story told to her if you already haven't... eventually, tell her your story... if she doesn't buy it and all, well that's that... if she doesn't want to get back together and all, sure it sucks, but you gotta move on... forget about it, and move on... that's all you can do... and obviously it's easier said then done, but I know personally that if you dwell on it, it'll be much worse... I broke up with a girlfriend once, and I was devestated (well she broke up with me), and I couldn't seem to stop thinking about it, and I was totally consumed by it for like a year, and it was a horrible year... probably the worst year of my life... so yeah, as much as it sucks, you just gotta move on... |

Now that she has had a chance to calm down a bit and actually agreed to: a) Read my letter b) Listen to me on the phone c) Today, meet face to face. My girlfriend has managed to explain her actions. Kudos to Phiz (of the Aphex Twin website), you got nearest to guessing what the (real) reason for our breakup was: Especially skillfull mis-information on the part of her friend. Through a brillant pattern of snaring insinuation and feinting rhetoric, the "friend" managed- without actually saying so- to convince my girlfriend that I had had sex with her. Several times. I have also found out that my girlfriend's last long term relationship was ended in the same way by the same "friend"! Far be it for me to use the internet as a cheap tool to defame someone who no-one here will (hopefully) ever meet, without "proof", let me just say that said individual has a great future ahead of her as a corrupt investigative reporter and/or (I wouldn't like to say these things are mutually exclusive) blackmailing prostitute. I am now back with my girlfriend, although there are still rather serious trust issues that need to be resolved before we can get back the way we were. |
