Paypal sucks.

Theres so many goddamn annoying things you have to do when
setting up an account...

First it asked for the last three numbers which are printed
on the back of my card in the signature area, which along
with the signature have faded away almost completely. I
could only really see the last two, so i had to play a
guessing game with the 1st number.

Then I have to go print up a check so i can give them the
last few numbers on my personal checking account. I've never
needed to a print a check in my entire life before this, and
I hope I never have to again :*(

Then you have to get set up for this extended fee thing, and
that means you have to wait for your statement to come and
get these extra numbers and then input those before you can
complete the transaction.

So thats basically three levels of security, each ANNOYING
and time consuming, for a purchase that with other sites
usually just entails a simple credit card number and
expiration date.

Why's paypal such a fucking bitch? All I wanted to get was
this hoodie of Nice Pete from the achewood webstore.

I've never had any problems with Paypal. Most sites ask for
those three digits, it's not Paypal's fault if the numbers
on your card have worn off. I've never had to do the print
cheque thing and I don't think you have to set up the
extended fee if you don't want to.

I've never had to do that either. Actually, I don't like my
bank.

You never had to input a section of your checking number?
maybe it's some new thing, or maybe it applys to only debit
card holders, like myself.

And the extended fee was a requirment, unfortunatly :(

Me too. It's been very convenient, not to mention cheaper
and easier arranging international bank transfers. Works
for me.

that's funny.. complaining about security..

paypal is a site that essentially stores your creditcard
information behind a password. I quite like them to be pissy
about security then.

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2004-07-27 09:47 [#01287647]

well, i don't send money to zimbabve that often.
i only used it once to send money to LA, and it was the most
complicated thing i did in my life. i couldn't possibly
imagine how hard it must be to do the same thing with
zimbabve.

offline weltact from Taiwan on 2004-07-27 09:54 [#01287652]

no, ure tripping
its 3 clicks for sending money anywhere on the planet
u just need to be familiar with it

same with using internet, its really complicated if u dont
know it, and its ridiculously easy if ure familiar

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2004-07-27 09:58 [#01287654]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

well, it is complicated to me...although i buy lots of stuff
on various places over internet, so im not totally dumb when
it comes to this.
i had so much trouble i had to open like 5 different
accounts to finally make it work...terrible experience. on
top of it all, at the time i used it i could select slovenia
from their list, so i picked the nearest country from that
list which happened to be italy, and surprisingly it
worked...ahh, im never going to se it again unless i have no
other options.

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2004-07-27 09:59 [#01287655]

i could select slovenia=i couldn't...

offline weltact from Taiwan on 2004-07-27 10:09 [#01287664]

well thats a different thing
its opening account thats hard, but using yr account when u
already have it is a piece of cake
and its because slovenia was not in the eu, the same thing
with serbia, impossible
but then again, its reasonable, in terms of bankers world
whos not in eu, doesnt exist
