Is this not the finest pop metal song ever crafted? It is
made of cotton candy, rollercoasters, firm young breasts and
chrome chevrolet components.

I think you're on to something here.

This is a good song, but it's not my favorite ''pop metal''.
My favorite is Diary of a Madman by Ozzy Osbourne. Or more
specifically... Randy Rhoads. Fucking ingenious. Man, he
could have had some nice duels with Eddie VH, they would
have burnt their fingers off trying to out-tap each other.
But it wasn't to be, because God is a bully.

Mmmyeah, also a great player, very inventive, hugely
influential. Completely different style and mood though -
raging and stinging as opposed to Eddie's casual humorous
way with an ax.

you are so right... you know, Van Halen aren't nearly as bad
as people make them out to be... Eddie Van Halen is such a
kick ass guitar player!

Sammy Hagar = blech! You can't compare the self-parodying
jumping strutting pouting David Lee Roth to that guy. Van
Halen died after the split with David. It kept touring and
making albums but the soul had been snuffed out.

Van Halen rocked. Roth was an irreplaceable cog, but I think
Sammy Hagar was quite good.

Gary Cherone, on the other hand...

David Lee Roth was unique in 80s metal becaue he could act
like a bitch goddess in a fur boa and still be masculine.
Sammy Hagar didn't have the charisma and sexuality necessary
to pull that off and to his credit he didn't even try.

I'm thinking about buying that new Van Halen multidisk set,
the one with the cover that looks like Eddie's striped
guitar.

Gary Cherone wasn't too bad... I actually like a few Extreme
songs, and think his voice is ok... but yeah, he didn't last
long with Van Halen did he...

dave, well, i was born in '83 so icant totally relate to the
whole "80s" theme.

whatever, both each hold a right to some of the greatest
music ever made
