Dreams. What are they? An escape from reality or reality itself? Waking Life follows the dream(s) of one man and his attempt to find and discern the absolute difference between waking life and the dreamworld. While trying to figure out a way to wake up, he runs into many people on his way; some of which offer one sentence asides on life, others delving deeply into existential questions and life's mysteries. We become the main character. It becomes our dream and our questions being asked and answered. Can we control our dreams? What are they telling us about life? About death? About ourselves and where we come from and where we are going? The film does not answer all these for us. Instead, it inspires us to ask the questions and find the answers ourselves.
debate!!!

He's not dreaming, he's unconscious because he got hit by that car and the whole movie is the last 12 minutes of brain activity before he dies.

really good movie, and great soundtrack. there's no groundbreaking ideas, but they are packaged and presented nicely.

so that means he's not dreaming? the two processes could be very closely related. we really don't know, i guess.

yeh mapp is definetly right about the whole movie thesis. it's based around the idea how life passes thru ur eyes the moment u die.
then again...it's doesn't have to be the end...notice that he's got the abillity to control the uncouncious part of the brain, which means that he could instantly live the spiritual life.

it's brilliant how the movie isn't attached to any role parts, but it's made so that the individual can relate to the whole life theories.
i found myself in the part where this guy explains the difference between quantum mechanics and molecular state.

i concede that, but my point was that both phenomena could be caused by the same processes. we're talking about unconscious brain activity, like mapp said. the movie still had very much to do with dreaming.

well yeah,it has this tangent that relates dreaming and post mortum state of the brain...u can see dreams like a link to the immortal world.
i mean,if ppl would learn how to control the dream state that would be the perfection man is seeking.
it's hard to expres thru the keyboard for me...
