our local tap water tastes like poo!
even when made into coffee.
the locals think its because this part of town has lots of african american and hispanics.
everything goes back to racism here.
but the water really does taste like poo!

my water tastes very chalky. it is called 'hard water' because of this. When I go on holiday the water tastes funny. Even just going to the south west(devon, etc) it tastes horrible to me. (I live in Hertfordshire)
You have to use lots of soap with hard water, so it is strange with softwater, because you get lots of froth and bubbles when you wash your hands.
My water tastes better than any bottled water, probably because I am used to it, and also it has a 'strong' chalky flavour for water.
All the land around here is very chalky, and there are many post glacial chalk landforms around, which all give the water its taste, such as the Chilterns, etc.

i think it's much more likely a civil engineering problem. i don't see how people could affect the quality of the water unless they were dumping their garbage in the reservoir.

About five sixths of what I drink is water, and of that, about five sixths is tap water. I don't know if it has some sort of health problems, but if it does and its effects only reduce my life span by 10 years or less, that's fine because I'll commit suicide when I'm 65 anyway.

hmm.. all I know about Soylent Green is that that guy in Final Fantasy Unlimited (Kaze) uses it as soil to summon something...
seems like an interesting movie, however, and even though I've already guessed what it's about, I'll try to locate it and have a look.

Sometimes the water here starts to smell fish slightly, but this doesn't change it's taste. Tastes just like normal tap water... Plus, it depends on a location, for example, tap water at my job smells fish today, but doesn't smell it at home, or vice versa, or sometimes it doesn't smell fish in both locations, which is the best.

the locals think its because this part of town has lots of
african american and hispanics.
Thats the most ignorant comment i've ever heard, and for you to generalize that "the locals" say this then you all are ignorant fucks.
Did you think its because maybe somewhere they dug some waste and it leaked out in the water. I hope you keep on drinking that water and grow a tail coming out of your ass!
p.s im an hispanic, i live in miami where 100% of the people are hispanic are my water taste GREAT!

you completely misunderstood what i said.
it's not bad cause the hispanics made it that way. it's bad cause the city does not put as much effort into this water treatment plant.

everyone is so ready to go to war when they think someone is being racist. sorry if i didn't use commas in the right places and it sounded as if i was ignorant.
really, the only reason i mentioned that is cause that's what i hear from people on this side of town. i would never encourage that kind of ignorant thought.
