As part of some festival thingy here, there was a free mini
Warp nite on in a music venue in Dublin last night.

New Warp artists Team Shadetek kicked off the night with
some bootylish twisted DJing. They laid down some what i
guess was the new "Grime" sound hailed by Rephlex and John
Peel recently. They seemed to be mostly DJing and i couldn't
tell what was their own stuff but it was all yummy. The
highlight for me was hearing Squarepushers new single "Venus
No.17 Acid Mix" mixed in with some fucked up vocals.........
shit hot and everyone was loving it .. "americanoooooos".
There were 2 guys in the team and they haqd loads of fun
head banging away to their darp hiphop beats.

They played for ages and were billed as the main act but
everyone was really waiting for Chris Clark. When he came on
he played an absolute classic set on various equipment with
no monitor/VDU. He plaed all his best stuff from "Clarence
Park", "ETBOY" and "CITB"... culminating in a banging
version of "the Gavel" with a couple of encores for good
measure. Quality gig and entirely free for some reason.
At the gig we got flyers for rephlex's "The bug" next month.
Fucking A!

Japan / Glade / now this?
When will your awesome streak stop?
Btw, how did things go about with your ex-gf at Glade?

I look up to you, mr.

cheers!

at Glade, things went really great with ems, my ex. The trip
getting there was fantastic and we got on really well. It
was on the third night, when we were well tripping on
mushies that we got it togther under the stars.

Since then we've kissed n cuddled a few times and i'm mad
about her more than ever and she's been real responsive.
However, last night after the Warp gig, she avoided a
goodnight kiss as she says she doesn't know where to go with
us. It seems bloody obvious to me but she's still unsure.
I'm holding out for her as i can see that she's just
thinking too much about the past and i'm sorta hoping her
feelings will dominate and we'll make another go of it. Shes
a honey and we get on so well and there's defo sparks
between us. Shes bei ng ultra cautious i think - fair
enough.

As for my awesome streak - well i'm being so lazy in work i
could get sacked any day and i'm extremely pissed off with
my apartment situtation and can't afford to move out in
Dublin so .....ying and yang!

The Bug?

He's good, but it's nothing like his records. Like it's alot
different

I saw Shadetek play before Chris Clark at Electrowerkz a few
months ago, I thought they were quite weak, I didnt't really
go for anything they played. Chris Clark was phenomenal
though... did he get into any drill breaks stuff for you?
That was the peak of his set when I saw him. Kind of similar
set to what I would expect from Aphex in a way... well from
the two AFX sets I've heard anyway.

shadetek were great last night but nobody was up for it;
everyone was just saving themselves for chris clark which
was a pity since they played for about 3 hours and then
clark for about 1 or perhaps 2.. :/

yeah the crowd there at the shadetek/clark gig was a
travesty. only the girls seemed to be into it, the rest were
there busy standing around like a bunch of snowmen.. useless
shit. then ie-dance got a slagfest going about team
shadetek suckin bad and somehow dissing dublin by playing
what they did (which i thought was a decent mixture of
"party" stuff).. it was ridiculous.
shame on the crowd :(
