Amen Break

Pusher of the Square from mars on 2002-01-16 04:18 [#00070507]

Hello all. I just wanted to know if any of you people know
where the hell the amen break came from. I think I know but
just wanted to make sure I heard correctly. Squarepusher
uses it like made crazy in his earlier releases (ie feed me
wierd things, burningn n tree...) and dnb people in general
seem to use it alot. Just wanted to know where it came from.

Umm, can't remember exactly... some song from the 60's or
70's called 'amen brother' ... maybe

It was handed down by god himself, etched on dual
faux-leather-bound stone l.p.'s.

over used perhaps, i don't know about over rated considering
it's shaped and influenced most modern music genres (hiphop,
drumnbass, breaks/electro, idm, etc).

personally, after almost 8 years of hearing it, i'm still
not tired of it.

Brett is Aphexisatwin and i was in her room because i took a
girl there.

His location is "your moms room" and oddly enough i slept in
his moms room! Fun times were had!
