darkened room.
Horse rotorvator is a classic.

I did that back in the day, I revised it a few times trying
to get it at exactly 80 minutes in the best possible way.

Here's the last one I burned,
Coil mix ver. 4:
1. ostia (the death of pasolini)
2. windowpane
3. the anal staircase
4. further back and faster

5. blue rats
6. boy in a suitcase
7. ubu noir
8. for us they will

9. red scratch
10. dark river
11. broccoli
12. strange birds

13. where even the darkness is something to see
14. egyptian bases

15. chaostrophy
16. slur
17. an emergency

For you autechre fanboyz, check out dark river [autechre
mix]. At least the last 2:30 min - it's where it's really
good.

I don't think that's actually autechre. I don't think they
would just take the track and put 2:30 of d'n'b at the end.
Especially since they've never done a d'nb track.

yeah, i think Ostia was the first song i ever heard by
Coil... beauty... i think i originally burned it on to the
free space at the end of a Front Line Assembly album that i
had burned onto CDr... that was back in the beginning of cd
burning, when i would do something silly like that just to
take up as much space as possible... this was all back when
i was first getting into industrial back when i was in grade
10... it's even better now that I actually know who pasolini
is...

black light district IS a thousand lights in a darkened
room.

but more technically, the album is called "A Thousand Lights
in a Darkened Room"
and coil are presenting under the name "Black Light
District" which was meant to be a series, but no follow ups
have come out.

the 2004 CDr release Black Antlers is pretty darn amazing...
it's pretty widely available on slsk... worth it for "sex
with sun ra (part 1)" alone...

honestly, this album is excellent... it jumps all over the
fuckin' place... there's a traditional folk cover followed
by a dsp-ed up industrial stomper... not to mention the
creepy-assed thrilling finisher track which is one of the
finest trancey tech numbers i've ever heard from these boys
(trancey as in entrancing, not as in trance)... this last
track has gorgeous old analog synths propelling it along in
a manner not so unlike afx... although, obviously this is
coil styles which is pretty different... check or die
dammit.

black antlers is very awesome yes! although it's actually
more like a demo is it not? i think they're releasing a more
finished version soon.
mm, if you like it you should check out some of their live
shows from this year. the paris one is easily found, italy
was sold at the london show, and london is apparently
available but is also apparently apparently released soon,
well there were plans before geff and that bad stuff...

anyway -- these contain great varied/more advanced versions
of black antlers tracks, wraiths and strays sounds really
good on these -- also the track your talking about, black
antlers, has lyrics and stuff (where's your child? do you
know where they are?), adds a lot to the track i think.

mm, or maybe you've already heardedered them?

I concur on your comments re: Black Antlers. It's so hard to
choose a "best of" for Coil, though.

this year i meant 2004 of course, hmm

and don't you think the track black antlers uses some of the
sounds used in the NIN remixes (the closer ones)? the
flaying screaming voice bit (the secondary one) sounds
suspiciously like that thing they did with his voice back
then, and that sound at like 4:40 in. hm maybe.

maybe 'elves' on the second disc of 'live one', which i
think was at the barcelona sonar thing.

yeah, there's a few bits in there aside from the screams
even.... that sound suspiciously familiar... thanks for the

proper release of all this stuff very soon...

No decision has been taken about whether we will license
Coil back-catalog to an new distributor for CD release, but
whetever happens, in the fullness of time the whole catalog
will be available in both lossless and smaller formats for
download from this site.

We will be making a number of new and archive recordings
available here soon, including the latest release Jhonn had
been planning which was ALREADY called "And the Ambulance
Died in his Arms..." - a live recording of Coil's
performance at ATP last year. We hope to make this a free
download in Jhonn's honour - check back to our Download
Store in a few days for details.

Early the New Year we will be releasing a box set of DVDs
containing the entire catalog of Coil on video in one fell
swoop, as well as the last major audio work The Ape of
Naples.

This album will combine the planned and substancially
revised Black Antlers Proper, with other recordings
currently in progress, as well as the best of unreleased
past material including some from the now-legendary
never-released Backwards album.
