I still can't find a decent snares discography on the web
that's up to date. The one on vsnares.com isn't complete.
I still haven't got round to getting Horse and Goat,
Badminton, Moonglow or Huge Chrome Cylinder Box Unfolding
and now there's ANOTHER new one! Jeez. I'm already coming
down with snares releases, this man is a powerhouse of
electronic wizardry.

moonglow is worth a listen:

Venetian Snares - Moonglow 7"
addict (united states) #addict 021 ep 2004
TRT 8:11 - ~260kbps VBR

a - Moonglow
b - This Bitter Earth

hrvatski review...

fantastic second entry into aaronÆs 7ö series on addict.
more broken jazz-funk
overload from the overlord. limited as much as 7ös usually
are (<500?). the
first in said series (badminton) is probably mmsÆ all-time
top-seller, so
donÆt expect these to be sitting on that shelf over by the
casio cz-101 too
much longer...

aquarius records review...

New two track blast from Venetian Snares and he's gone JAZZ!
Fear not though,
this is still plenty weird. The A side is a lounge-y jazzy
workout with
stuttering Blue Note loops, horns, vibes and of course some
of those VS
spastic-shuffling-funky-drummer-fed-through-the-leaf-shredd
er beats. Side B
is a smoke-y minor key torch song, all muted snares,
sizzling cymbals, soulful
horns, choir-like angelic vocals and the occasional
kittenish growl of a
mysterious chanteuse all over a moody late night mantra.
Really cool.

label description...

aaron funk returns to addict. where most artists would
select an alias for
their work in different styles, venetian snares refuses to
give in and comes
correct with tagents (sic) from the depths.'moonglow' is a
jazz drum workout
that is sure to hit funky dancefloors the world over. look
out.flip for a
biting peice of dark moodiness in the jazz voice sampling
beauty of "this
bitter earth".the last record in this series sold out quick
and is now out of
print, so get this while you can.

another review, sort of idiotic...

Mr Funk must have changed his dealer or something. taking a
complete u-turn
from the noise abrasion and spastic beat patterns of the
'horse and goat' LP,
this 7" comes as an analog antithesis to his recent digital
constructions. The
A-side, moonglow, throws down some fierce yet restrained
drumfunk, like a hype
Gene krupa session recorded with a bastardized tape deck,
destined to send
feet the wrong way and prompt some fonky stepping on only
the finest
dancefloors. This is a serious display of the man's
undoubted and unrivalled
talent in the field of beat construction/decimation, with a
perfectly tuned
ear for the crispest drum sounds. Flip the goodness for what
will surely
become one of V snares' most classic and unforgettable
productions. 'This
bitter earth' stunns with almost immediate effect.
magnificent rolling snares
and understated, shuffling hi hats, which unfold possibly
his most accessible
beat, somewhat reminiscent of the intro to dollmaker in its
jazziness, but
instead of dropping into hell-sent gabber, the track takes
an unexpected
twist into a solitary female vocal stating 'this bitter
earth' before
cinematic strings of epic proportions sweep the listener
away for 2 minutes
(yes, only another 2 minutes, this tune is criminally short)
of snares induced
bliss, spine shivers and funny warm feelings included. As
with its
predecessor, the highly limited and acclaimed badminton 7",
limited styles
apply. Assured essential listening.
