here's a link to beethoven's ninth symphony which has been stretched out to 24 hours. it's rendered slow and smooth and reminds me somehow of stars of the lid and related projects.
if you like that sort of thing and have a long attention span,
you'll be very interested. i've only been able to listen to the first hour, but it's very enjoyable. go to the bottom of the page for mp3 instead of the real audio stream...

the compositional integrity is left intact, in a technical sense, but the experience of the performance is radically altered. it bears no resemblance to the orginal symphonic work, to the senses. so the experience is of an entirely new work. if you can enjoy something like stars of the lid, i think you will find this very enjoyable. you've got to have plenty of time and quiet on your hands, though...
no point needed...

d_b, i agree it sounds (before you hear it) like it could be awful. it's actually excellent (based on the first 160 +/- minutes). again, if you're not into drones or very slowly evolving music you might be very bored.
i'm not sure that any composition would work this well with similar processing. nevertheless, worth a listen.
