aha, so, the day i was there (you people didn't tell me!) was a part of an electronic music festival called "5 days off" and it was warp night! so i saw chris clark, dj ned and james lidel at this nightclub called 'milkweg'.. i met this cool dutch couple, the girl knew the bartenders and kept getting us free heinekens. chris clark played an awesome, awesome set of all new material only to tarnish it with a disappointing 'diesel raven' that was EXACTLY like the cd version.. i saw him pop a cd in and basically tweak the equalizer.. that's it. DUTCH PEOPLE ARE AWESOME, very nice and friendly, tho they don't dance, unfortunately....
the stedelijk museum was nice. its main location is closed for rennovations, so the collection has been temporarily moved to this nondescript office building appropriately located in the middle of a busy construction sight.. so the entire visit was punctuated by a loud chatter of various industrial machines buzzing away and moving outside the windows, which went very well with the modern art.. the collection itself was a bit disappointing, but my understanding was that a lot of it isn't present due to the renovations. the reijksmuseum, unfortunately, was also closed for renovations but i went for a nice walk in the adjacant park. ended the 27 hour marathon with a long walk in the rain back to centraal station through the rather surreal red light district.
all in all an amazing city.. looking forward to spending more time there in the future.

i'm drinking an amsterdam navigator atm, not the nicest of beers but not bad considering the percentage in it...
