Just saw her at T In The Park, I was about 10 feet away from the gloriousness that is PJ Harvey. The backing band were excellent (Beck's guitarist and The Fall's bassist) new stuff sounded better live than on record. |

not liked anything she's done, or bjork. its not bad but its not good. i hear it and it goes past me. i don't think its the female voice per se although there are very few female voices or singer songwriters i like. i'm unsure what i'm missing and/or why i'm missing it. years ago i was a big fan of portishead, and grace slick's (jefferson airplane) voice i've alway loved. hmmm. |

yeah with her weakest album imo, there are loads of good female singer songwriters about, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Liz Fraser, Lisa Gerrard, Siouxsie... the best female siingers tend to be an aquired taste. |

Yes, stories from the city won. She's won it previously aswel. You should really try and get into both those artists they are really worth it. PJ puts so much emotion into her albums... not cheesy emotion, but the kind that gives every track a deep character. Lol pantalaimon... where abouts do you live? |
