My personal favourite free tape or CD I have ever got off a magazine is the Metalheadz Sessions that came with Muzik magazine in the UK back in 96. I found the cassette today and Hornet 127 is a goldie classic, so laid back. Other little known quality tracks live on their as well.
What's yours?

i don't think i ever got anything with magazine. i've bought some metalheadz album some years ago, but i only listened to it once...i don't remember ever hearing something as bad as that.

yes the platinum breaks albums where a bit hit and miss, this cassette was better than the album it was released to promote.
Metropolid by Adam F is a mad tune though on whatever PB album it was on.

But I also for the MGS disc on a Playstation magazine I stole from WHSmith. Read the magazine in the shop and slipped the disc in my pocket.

heh, I remember that one, I still have it somewhere. I remember Dillinja's "jah know jah big"(or something like that) was on it. I should try to find it again. It was my favourite too but I only had 2 or 3 of those tapes...

The only tape I got from a magazine has a Fatboy Slim mix set on it. But that's ok, because it was a good one.

Ah, my fave's this one:
Trance 'n' Bass, mixed by John B
It was included with Mixmag awhile back... a real hybrid treat to listen to, esp. tracks like "Mirror of Thought"
