Warp/Sinfonietta broadcast on radio..

I went to the Warp/Sinfonietta tour, and loved it.
Heard a rumour at the time that it would be broadcast on BBC
Radio 3. Then nothing, no further word. Things got a bit
busy for me over the last couple of months, internet access
was limited, and I wasn't really able to keep checking the
Warp & BBC sites every week to see if the Ether show
was going to be aired.
Things have settled down a bit now. Out of interest I go on
to the BBC Radio 3 site, check the Hear And Now
listings, and guess what?..
They aired the entire live show almost a month ago..
bastards!

I guess this is old news to most of you. I don't need to ask
if it was good - after all - I went to one of the shows, I
know how good it was. I was really looking forward to
making a recording so I could revisit the pieces I heard
back in March.
Did anyone hear the show when it was broadcast? Did anyone
record it? If anyone has a high-quality (and i mean
high quality) MP3 knocking about, would they consider
burning me a CD?

OR - and I'm going to need your help with this one - we
could all visit the Hear & Now site, and email them,
asking for a repeat of the show in the not too distant
future.
If enough of us do so, I reckon they might buckle under the
pressure. Mixing It repeated a Herbert show because
of public demand; so I reckon we could make it happen, I'm
sure I'm not the only one that missed out on this very
interesting show.

I've really wanted to hear this, didn't get a chance to see
it and didn't know it was on R3. I'll email them sure if we
all do.

What's going on now? Care to sum it up in a sentence or
two?

radio 3 aired the ether fest warp/sinfonietta night last
month.
i missed it.
i wonder whether i'm the only one.
i doubt it.
i think that if we all email bbc radio 3 asking for a
repeat, they'll do it.
then we can hear it, record it.. and i'm sure some people
will host it & share it.

no one seems interested in applying pressure to the bbc
though.

8 sentences.. sorry. tried to keep them short though.

the radio 3 broadcast was.

thats a shame. maybe its still worth hassling the bbc. their
radio broadcast recordings are usually pretty good - so long
as your reception is too.
any idea how we can convince people to email the bbc about
this? i seem to be having no luck at all.

this one is a bit poor, but I am supposed to be getting a
better quality one at some stage in the near future.

Have you emailed them yet to see if they have any plans to
re broadcast? I have no idea whether the one I have is the
one that was aired or whether it was a recording done of the
night. It is pretty good though.

well. i doubt theyre thinking of repeating anytime soon as
they only aired it last month. but, as i said, i reckon that
if enough of us ask for them to repeat it, then they will;
they've done it in the past with other concerts/shows.

I have emailed them too.

The version I have is different to the tracks they have
listed on the site, so I assume they performed different
tracks on different nights?

afx237 v.7 Disintergration No 3 is cool.

The one I have was recorded on the night it seems as when
the audience applauses their is clapping near the mic.

From: "Philip Tagney"

Dear s p

Very sorry you missed that broadcast. No plans to repeat it
at the moment I'm afraid, but your suggestion is duly
noted.

ecnadniarb : don't be so hard on yourself. i will never
ignore you.. but i'm glad you cleared up the confusion about
your recording.

THAXFA : thanks very much for the offer, I'll mail you about
it soon.

mappatazee : they haven't replied to my email yet. but
hopefully if they get enough people hassling them, they
might change their mind.

dog-belch : ?!

did they broadcast the boc track?

i was there on the night, and the impression i got was that
the interpretation was pathetic.

i'd like to hear it again, to make sure.....

mira calix was superb, though.

I really want to hear i wish you could talk being performed
by 2 drummers and string instruments :) there was a short
extract of that on that old radio 4 thing, but being radio
4, it was all chat and no music...

i'm talking about the 2004 warp/sinfonietta collaboration
with squarepusher & jamie lidell plus pieces by aphex/polgon
window, reich, cage, varese etc.. not last year's one off
london show, which featured a reworking of boc.

*bump*

seriously, lets all hassle radio 3.
it doesn't take much, and it might pay off.
