ok, heres the plan. Get a small radio, preferably with AM and FM bands. Tune it to a station, detune it a bit untill you hear white noise or faint voices/music. when you move the station will fade in and out, and with a little luck youll get some great noise modulated to the beats or talking on nearby stations.
for extra fun, get more radios. Put them in your pockets, and hear the noise change as you move around.
approach metal objects, or power lines!! its wild!!! and if you use more than one (and are unable to use headphones) people will give you weird looks too!

i've made quite a few mixes with radio white noise and weird litle bits coming in and out between tracks. its the wasps nuts!

i was listening into the police and ambulance frequency one night and they had the siren on and there was this noisy interference that kept cutting in and out and it was beautiful. i recorded a bit of it but i missed the best part.
it would be great to do a live show on the train using only transistor radios, giving the people something to listen to after a hard day at work/school/etc
i think your idea is excellllent.
