 | John was so dynamic he needed an equalizer like paul. Shame that John was assimilated by Yoko.

 | Living in the Material World came after ATMP, and isn't half as good. But it's a solid album.

Ringo's first album is, fittingly enough... ''Ringo''.

Sometimes Yoko makes me mad, but I'm in the minority that
really like her. John was just too much of a pansy for a
 woman like her.

 | ophecks.. do you know how to make DVD or SCD videos ? or can I send you a few dvds for you to burn those files onto a
data disc for me? I can't seem to find the get back sessions
on slsk, and I can't seem to get on the right server to get
them from you. they'd take forever to come thru as well...

are there people who make custom mixes of beatle songs? and
are there infosites on those groups/people/technicians that
describe technique/what kind of software do they use to
 isolate instruments etc

by the way.. I can say for sure that as much as I absolutely
LOVE all things must pass, I have no immediate plans of
buying any more george albums (in the future though.. I
probably will ..the self-titled one, 33 1/3 maybe... etc..
the live one he released after all things.. seems worth
buying ) ESP. after seeing just the cover of GONE TROPPO
 (?>!?!?!?!?!!(Ufde897fynS_) how depressing. it's a good
thing john died before seeing that (although it wouldn't
have come about had he not died) .. and that somewhere in
england album must be awful as well.... his solo career is
hard to understand/explain.. he seemed like the smartest
beatle (by the way, I don't think it can be disputed that
paul is by FAR the most
 musically/technically/compositionally gifted beatle.. he's
way ahead of all of them) and you'd think he' know to veer
as far as possible from shit like that.. and although it's
not embarassing work like that fucking jimmy buffet troppo
album, I 'm really turned off by any jeff lynne collabos. I
really hate his prod. style.. it's so cheesy to me for some
reason.. I did like a lot of ELO stuff.. but not without
being somewhat ironic and tongue-in-cheeck about it. .. so
I'm guessing Brainwashed isn't worth even checking for now

is it true bill clinton is on paul's 'flaming pie' album??

 | Heh, sorry, I haven't been on the board in a week or so, I've been busy.

Naw, I don't know how to work those DVD things... I
personally don't even have a DVD burner on my computer, nor
do I have Let it Be or Help on DVD (though they're both
 being re-released soon).

Have you tried Suprnova.org? Do ''Beatles'' with the search
engine, and it'll turn up a treasure trove of awesome
 stuff.

Custom mixes... well, people with the Anthology DVDs and a
burner can do that, though I don't know how yet... when I
get a CPU with a burner, I'm definitely going to figure this
stuff out. They remix the 5.1 sound and get some really
 interesting results.

(did I post that awesome remix of Rain here? I can't
remember, and there's too many words to look through up
 there...)

There's other versions of Beatles albums. John Barrett was
an engineer with full access to the Beatles tapes, he made
some different mixes of songs to kill time until his cancer
killed him, they're are pretty widely available, and usually
an improvement on the '87 mixes.

Also, Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs have done a lot of Beatles
mixing, they've got some great clean, stereo mixes of the
early albums, almost always makes a world of difference.
Hearing guitar licks that are stuck under a pile of sludge
on the CDs, that's always nice... they're easily found using
 file sharing.

Beatlelinks has a bootleg section with a few hardcore
bootleg websites, you can find CDs and downloads and shit.
Been a while since I've visited any of them, so the ones in
my bookmarks are mostly dead (always under fire, y'know).
I'll have to check out Beatlelinks later, myself.

Brainwashed is VERY worth checking out! It's true that prior
albums mostly suck ass, but Brainwashed is pretty acclaimed,
and rock solid. Paul's last couple of albums have also been
strong... a bit of a minor creative renaissance for the
 Beatles lately, actually.

 | As far as George's latter day creative struggles, well... I think you're right, the guy was very intelligent, AND I
think his heart was in the right place, but really, he was
never anywhere near John or Paul, compositionally. It
doesn't surprise me that his later work is so mediocre. The
Beatles made him look good, really good, better than he
actually was. The songs he wrote that didn't make the Beatle
albums (Circles, Dehra Dun, Sour Milk Sea, among others) are
not very good, or interesting. Even when Paul and John
slipped up quality wise on Beatle albums (rare events), they
were still being pretty inventive. George's high end songs
are legendary... he had a few revelations, as any support
composer in a great band has, but anybody that puts him on
John or Paul's level is kidding themselves.

And even solo-wise, a lot of those ATMP songs were composed
and even performed in Beatle presence, a really creative
environment, and he once he got out of the group, got far
removed, he dried up big time. George was not good enough to
have a solo career as long as his was and sustain any type
of high quality. He's superb in a band environment, a
perfect foil and superb third wheel or secondary composer,
but it ends there. Very average on his own, once he blew the
creative load he was building up while working with
 geniuses.

What do you mean by ''can't find the server''? Do you mean
Soulseek's? I'm usually online, you don't need to fiddle
around with servers or anything... just add user
revolverjgw, browse files, etc. Though most people get like
2 kb/s from me for some messed up reason... even though I'm
on high speed. You might be better off looking elsewhere,
 heh.

 | And yes, Jeff Lynne is a dick. I especially hate the way he produced the two ''new'' Beatles tracks from '96ish. Doesn't
sound anything like them, far too layered and dense, no room
to breathe for any of the instruments. And Ringo's drums are
FAR too loud. The songs are strong, but it's The Beatles as
if they were produced by a twat.
