I saw Sonic Youth on Conan the other night. Might have been
last night... I'm in a mental fog. Anyway, Kim looked
phenomenal for her age, and the rest looked old and frail,
except Thurston. The drummer looked like he was going to
pass out at any time, looked overtaxed. But they rocked.
Nurse is a more than decent album. Helluvalot better than
the Cure's latest offering.

i wish i could have gone to the No Fun Festival, 'twould
have been sweet

thats because it's silly to like the cure

youth one

It IS silly to compare two albums by two musically unrelated
bands. I should stop focusing on age and career arc. But
I've heard sillier.

this is a fine album... these old youthers are interesting
because for the most part at this stage it's just an
exploration of their songwriting repertoire... not too much
experimentation... just song...

i can't believe how poor the new cure album is, i didn't
believe it untill i heard it myself, what happened to the
atmosphere of 'Disintegration', the eclectic and playful
genious of 'kiss me...' I can't stress how dissapointed i am
with the new album, its the Cure sounding like a generic
rock band.

Sonic Nurse on the other hand is brilliant, not sure if it
beats Murray street but its close, i'd love to see them
live, are they touring in the uk?
