weekend....kid kinda hippyish sorta sat next to me ... could
tell he at least schomked.

started throwin out the autechre and what not artists (who i
was wanted to listen to..."wish i had some autechre")
bait'n'hook.

sure enuff he bit and asked if i gnu AE. i'm like hell
yeah

he was really into boards of canada but surprisingly not
aphex twin or other major IDM artists, >[] etc.

i got his email, was a funny story, prolly get him to join
up here soon.

post topic:

how many of you guys find yourself in a public situation and
throw out (speak out in a loud voice) and start saying IDM
artists etc and see if you get any "head turners" or ppl who
recognize the name?

i kinda find it fun.

anyone else find themselves doing this? bait'n?

i do it a lot. most people see it as a pretentious attempt
at outreach. and their probably right.

I like to yell autechre, preferably in crowded areas. Not
only is it a funny word to yell, but you might even meet
another moron!

i like to yell Yu-Gi-OOOOOOOOOHHHHHH too, and make farting

my imitation of a mentally disabled person is a great way to
draw attention too.

im always outloud about what i listen to, i like to have my
headphones up really loud to autechre, in hopes that the
girl of my dreams will come up to me and say "is that
autechre?!"

i used to do this on occasion... and i still wear my Aphex
Pin on my bag... but these days i usually restrict these
sorts of things to maybe holding a cd case in plain view...
i think i mostly stopped because one of my friends does it
all the time, and he has this real superiority complex about
the whole goddamn thing, and he really knows shit about
music anyway...

Naw... I don't have any band T-shirts, or pins, I never
carry around CDs, I don't walk around with Venetian Snares
boxers and make a point to wear saggy pants to show them
off.

There was this one time in Celtic History class where I saw
a guy drawing Aphex and Kraftwerk logos in his notebook, I
talked to him for a few minutes. He didn't even know who
Autechre was...
