so while i was there, staying in a crappy Western-style
hotel, i saw some local TV:

* GO with commentary...
.. thats right, a program dedicated to that jap boardgame we
all know and love. They talked endlessly about opening
strategies and had a cute chick giggling into her hand over
the potential slaughter one could inflict on your oponents
territory

* "Body! Mind! Fun!"
A game show where you use your god given noggin PLUS your
actual body, to solve complicated velcro-based puzzles via
the magic of teamwork with your work colleagues. very!

* New "Lone Wolf and Cub" seies
They took the gory comic, which spawned a
once-banned-in-the-UK gory film series and turned it into a
.... not-so-gory soap-operaesque multi-million yen
super-series with a Japanese Dayle Winton playing mr. wolf
and the cutest little kid playing Daigoro. I was
disappointed with the lack of gore but some of the
cinematography was mind-blowing.

* porn
pixelated and includes deep-kissing unlike european and US
movies so it had a different "more realistic" vibe going on.
The girls were very hot too and all looked about 16. they
guys looked like yakuza and talked a helluva lot. The story
lines were pure pisstake which i appreciated for its
honesty

*maths
very very slow maths programs thast had the same eqn on the
screen for 20 minutes!

*dubbed seinfeld
Still hilarious and the guy who voiced Kramer was just
insane

*baseball
- everywhere

"very very slow maths programs thast had the same eqn on the

sounds like our national tv program in its most exciting
days.

i guess they're used to it...we always have great laughs
when watching telly in some countries that use dubbing.

Oh Mikey! is a Japanese TV sitcom. They use lifesize
american maniquins from the 60's with these big goofy smiles
with cheesy soap oprah plots. It's the creepiest thing I've
ever seen.

sounds good!.... missed it though

weirdest thing i saw was a gameshow where the 2 hosts were
dressed like that scientist monkey form Planet of the Apes
yet the rest of the gameshow was deadly serious with nobody
mentioning the whacky costumes at all and the host just
acted normal! <- fucked up!
