Jury Duty

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-14 04:09 [#00069541]

i've been summoned to appear for jury duty in 8 and a half
hours. what kind of gay shit?

Tell them you have a vendetta against the accused, and
you'll be allowed to avoid duty!

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-14 04:25 [#00069550]

i'd still have to wait around all day for my ride. i might
as well be a juror member and get paid (right??)...

It's your duty to society. But society sucks... jury duty
sucks.

Maybe it'll be an interesting case? Probably not, but I
wish the best. My dad had jury duty and he half enjoyed
cause it was real complex, forget the details though.

i wouldn't mind if not for the no electronics (discman
including) rule. so no music while i wait around all day.
i'm bringing the book i'm reading, american psycho, and
maybe some blank paper for me to write down ideas on.

In the UK you seem to (my mum had to do jury duty) have to
do several cases if they're short, therefore giving a reason
for not being able to be on the jury wouldn't save you more
than a few hours.

Why not claim to be an eliteist who thinks that all the
people are guilty as they don't contribute to society as
much as you?

Nice one Ceri!
But hey - you may get a case like OJ and be required for
jury service for a couple of weeks!!! Had you thought about
that?

that was what was supposed to happen, the jurors rejected
from one trial were to be recycled into another trial. but i
wasn't called for 4 hours. when i got to the trial, i
actually WAS selected to be a juror - until they saw me
SMIRKING. i thought it was funny they picked me cos everyone
told me they wouldn't cos i'm just 19. anyway the defense
probably figured i wouldn't take it seriously and revoked my
spot on the jury. cool with me. all the people not used like
myself got to leave by 2pm while the other fuckas had to
stick around till their trials were over.

Cool, now all we have to do if we get selected is smirk and
we won't have to do it! ;)

Jedi Chris from Tattooine on 2002-01-15 22:48 [#00070401]

"What are you smirking at sonny!" .. or . . "You think this
is funny do you? You do realise this trial is gonna last at
least 4 months don't you???"

....that'd be my luck!!
