ALL THOSE AUTECHRE THREADS

Let's say people are starting to give their opinions about
chiastic slide, I'll read through the thread and then put
the album on and start thinking that this particular album
is their best. Then a thread about draft will pop out and
I'll do the same thing.

Everytime there's an ae thread discussing one of their
releases, it makes be get back into that ae addiction and
listen to their material compulsively for weeks.

am I the only one that starts to listen to ae again after
reading these threads? and the thing is, ive been reading
this mb for a few years now and ive read pretty much
everything people have got to say about every track they
created, yet i never get tiredof readind each time another
ae thread appears.

for instance, will anyone put chiastic on because ive
mentioned it in this post?

gotta love ae.

i dont listen to a lot of electro these days. but i hold
autechre and team doyobi in the highest esteem :) what ive
started doing myself after a long break is so obviously
influenced by these bands!

It's the opposite with me. It's when I don't have the
inevitable influence of other people in my head that I fully
enjoy their music.

[wank] In numerical terms each album by autechre represents
a cart which follows a vector. Also all of the vectors are
approaching a central point which we shall call , from a
differentish position, and with a different speed.

Each vector is 74ish minutes long, and none of them ever
reach the point ae. ae is a limit,
mathematically speaking.

The carts are full of pebbles, metal spheres, and raving
schizophrenics of varying sizes. They are all piloted by
guys called Sean and Rob, who are compelled to take
increasing amounts of ketamine the closer they get to
ae.

ae is also on a mountain, so the terrain gets bumpier
the closer they get to it, which results in a lot of
rattling in Sean and Rob's cart.

A guy from Warp races along next to the cart with a
high-quality mike, and thus Autechre records are
made.[/wank]

KainiIndustries: wow this is a nice text, should be posted
as a review somewhere.

i won't listen to Æ right after i've read some thread,
mainly because i clearly remember Æ music so i don't need
to refresh my memory, and also I've got a lot of other music
which plays shuffled. It's Hector Zazou now, for example. Æ
is somewhere in my playlist, "lurking".

CORTEX > sometimes... i remember some days ago there was a
talk about Confield and i put it on because of this... (i
didn't listen to it until the end though, only one track or
two - i'm pretty much past my idm period)

it can happen with every artist, not just Autechre : )
i like when it happens.

I'll put on AE every once in a while and they're still my
favorite group but there's so much more out there that
deserves a listen too.

everybody go listen to Aksak Maboul and Hector Zazou. I'm
serious. Let your ears have some rest.
