I and a couple of friends plan on going camping in Traverse
City up north soon. I'm a nubie at it so can anyone give me
any advice? What exactly can you do in the woods and not be
completey bored?

From what I hear, there are some white power factions
residing there. That scary enough for my group!

Kicking squirels is boring. Kicking bears is too dangerous.
Kicking birds is damn near impossible. Next Idea.

Get a cabin and make it as much like home as possible.
Barring that, have tent orgies.

Camping for me usually consists of sitting around campfires
talking and being goofy, it's really quite hard to get bored
doing that, isn't it?

Take some sort of padded map or inflatable bed. Trust me on
this one, you don't want to be sleeping on a groundsheet for
a week. You may also want to pack a nice fat baggie of
grass, some portable speakers and a walkman (plus hella
batteries of course).

That's true. I guess you'll always have fun with the right
people. Hope I don't get mistaken for a deer though. I'd
better buy some camos

If your friends aren't IDM fans, take headphones. Anyway,
recommendations for camping include:

- Fog - Ether Teeth (ESSENTIAL)
- Anything by GYBE! (ALSO ESSENTIAL)
- Joni Mitchell - Blue
- Orbital - Snivilization
- Low - Secret Name
- Rachel's - Music for Egon Schiele or Selenography
- Broadcast - The Noise Made by People

Godspeed you black emperor! (the exclamation point is part
of the name, they later changed it to godspeed you! black
emperor). Very bleak end-of-the-world nuclear-apocalypse
everyone-is-dead music. Perfect for being alone in the woods
:D

afxNUMB -------> I concur. Strongly.

I've been meaning to get into that group lately. Have you
heard the new Deathprod 'Morals and Dogma'? It's harsh! The
bleakest thing I've ever heard.
