ok, ok, i know people posted a lot of recs, and you probably aren't downloading anymore, but you must check out built to spill, especially the album keep it like a secret... just download the tracks 'carry the zero' or 'temporarily blind' as teasers. it's both thrash-and-go-wild-and-swoon rock and arty indie homebrewed beauty. also, if you like mogwai, you'll prob. really like "explosions in the sky", a texas(!) band.. esp the album that has a name that starts with "those who tell the truth" something something. |

rocking out for people who are serious about rocking out: Comets on Fire <-- earthy r&b rock run through the psyche blender... loud as fuck... no... louder still... takes a few listens, but well worth the effort the Ex Models Polysics <--two very hyperactive punky rock (as opposed to punk rock) bands, doing very naughty things in very little time... Oneida Deerhoof (you've probably heard us yap about these guys before, though...) hmm... well British Sea Power is a lot like Interpol... but i'd say that only the first half of the album is worthwhile... oohh! maybe the Hot Snakes? Les Savy Fav? Brainiac? Dismemberment Plan? Gang of Four? the Contortions? And You Will Know Us By The Trail of the Dead? Rocket from the Crypt? |
