I think "Ffffrreessh" is a really good album, but anything
other than that, I don't know, if it's meant to be pastiche
or what. I am sure he has a genuine love for 80s pop and
electro, but I don't really know if he does anything
interesting with that sound.

no, there are actually people who think music itself
contains emotion, or has some direct effect on exact
emotions - if A plays this, everyone will feel this specific
emotion.

the DMX Krew track on the Rephlexions! compilation is utter
bollocks, i don't care whether its ironic, pastiche,
nostalgia or whatever.

yeah you are missing something

Edward Upton creates clever tunes, I can imagine that it
take a while to get into his music, but when it is a nice
sunny day play songs like Body Rock this song is a
parody of an old popsong (don´t know which one) or Good
Time Girl
where you can hear is sense of humor :)

and many more songs are very joyful imo

«"the often emotionless autechre"
... you are not serious, are you?»

> the way i see it, autechre is more about technique and
being "non-human", complex, robotic and out-of-this-world...
it can be beautiful if you're in the mood, and if you like
it it must convey emotions to you, but still it's very
cold music.

i have difficulty seeing how can you not see that
people can see it as emotionless, to tell the truth. ' _ '
