a fashion trend i can't get away from...

sure, i liked some of the original bands, but it's just a
pandemic now...

it is getting pretty bad. especially with the mtv knockoffs.
not to say that just because something is big, means it's
bad. it just doesn't seem to have the same wholeheartedness
as the real stuff. it's kind of strange to see the trends
that i saw locally become what's on mtv. not that the
original wasn't entirely about the music. there was
definitely some fashion and for the sake of cool present,
but it seemed more genuine.

Out of interest, who are the "original" bands of Emo? I
wonder in what sense they are original and not entirely
derivative and appalling?

has anyone heard the term 'emo rap'...
atmosphere has been described that way. is this just a music
journalists way of describing independant white rap?

masses.

original bands:

RITES OF SPRING
EMBRACE
DAG NASTY
GRAY MATTER

and, of course, FUGAZI

sunny day real estate are not "original" at all.

surely if people are arguing about which bands were the
"originals" and which were the "imitators" - the music isn't
that good at all..

..and I'm all, like, I've gotta take a dump, and, like, the
officer is just staring at me going "where is your ID,"
right? and I'm still, like, "fuck! I've got to take a shit,"
right, so then he says "you'll have a shit when I have your
ID." stupid fuck! so naturally I go "up yours, copper," and
then I take a shit RIGHT THERE, right.. RIGHT in front of
him! awww, man! you should have seen that pigs face!
