Prodigy isn't exactly my favourite band but still i'm
looking forward to hear the new album.

This song isn't that good imo but i thought someone might
still want to hear it.

Memphis Bells

i like the synth part which begins @ 2:30, very prodigyish.

i have mixed feelings about this song. some elements are
good, it has good potential. don't like the bells too much

I really dont like the descending alarmy synth at the first
of the track. In fact I don't like the track much at all.
Theres many variations but none of them are very strong.

No prob.

I used to be a fan when i was younger but i haven't listened
to their stuff in a while.

the beat is ok but the bells aren't quite doing the song a
favour.

Prodigy was my first introduction to this electronic shit
too, if you dont count the synth recoredings that my father
had. I fell in love with prodigy back then.. and i'm now
20..

Its just the B side of the "Girls" 12" right ?
Crappy shit indeed.

I think the Girls single was pretty cool.

this isnt deserving of the criticism its recieved in the
thread
its an ok track, im more concerned tho about how much its
sounds like mr.oizo's "flat beat"

Thanks for sharing -- going to check this out shortly when I
have a chance. I am anticipating the new Prodigy . . . it's
been so long since their last album, like 7-8 years?!?
Incredible how time flies.

I cannot say with certainty but maybe part of the point is
for Liam to sound amateurish again, like when he started,
and have that raw Prodigy feel, this time on a computer
workstation instead of on old synthesizer kit. Not sure, but
it's an interesting transmogrification of the times.

Okay -- now listening . . .

so . . . . . .

Why does my head suddenly conjure images up of Timbaland and
Magoo having a party with Liam & Co.?!?

Yeah I think it's something about the way the beats shuffle
and the hi-hats st-st-stutter... bring on the Missy Elliot!
:D

this is boring though

My brother says it reminds him of old NES music like that
from the games "Uninvited" and "Shadowgate", only with
heavier beats and stuff. Especially that bell-tone melody.

I bet someone could make a funny Flash animation to this :)

OK this will tell me whether to nother with prodigy at all.

I used to like them a lot.... now I am cooled down after
seeing baby's temper...

If it is like Fat of TEH Land.... I will ignore it.
Too bad it is going to be their last album.

didn't like this much. Boooring.
I also get hiphop-vibes from this (someone mentioned Missy
Elliot). Why don't they just throw in some "Holler"-samples
in this track? I mean it gets more interesting at around
2:30, but it's not a good track.
I hope the album will be more like "girls" although I don't
like that prodigy is getting more "groovy". They've
defineatly become less funky, and thus, less aggressive.
I remember Keith once talked about gabber in an interview
saying that music isn't agressive cause it's got loads of
mp3s and is disted, and he is right. But if he'd be saying
that now people'd laugh at him, cause this is really far
from agressive.

"cause it's got loads of mp3s and is disted,"

= cause it's got loads of bpms and is disted,

heh

It can't just be me... am I hearing things right? In the
middle of the track somewhere, there's a loud, breathy
female sample that sounds like it's blurting out:

PAYBACK TIME!!!

No it's not just you.

It is the new B Side of the 12" but it is also on the album.
I actually like it, it's got more of a garage vibe than a
hiphop one. The female vocal is Princess Superstar.

I think it's pretty cool, but that main riff is
embarrassingly similar to "flat beat".

Yeah, "Flat Beat" minus the triplet groove... I think.

Thanks ecnadniarb . . . OHHH fan of Princess Superstar here,
doesn't she do the vocals on "Girls"?

OK I just heard the girls.

I am pissed off!

This means remixing prodigy to their bones.
I encourage everyone who knows how to make music to do the
same. They want to drop the bomb with that SHIT ? It
clearly means WAR!

Let the no man army unite against bullshit.

I am starting making remixes NOW.
What was it 7 submarines to 1 British submarine ?

That is exactly what I will do. 7 remixes to 1 of their
piece of shit music.
