this guy has lots of great photos I use for desktops. Unfortunately he's taken down some of the amazingly best old ones, like the sundial and the skylight.

looks like you had a great day out there elusive. Those pictures are awesome, very professional looking, the close ups of the insects, plants, power lines etc are amazing. What camera were you using there?
I am thinking of buying a digital camera myself but haven’t got a clue where to begin.

Cool, I like this kind of stuff. The detail on those flies is just disgusting, in a good way. Slippery shiny gross hides. You've got a wicked camera, it really accentuates the fact that you're totally gonna be bald soon. :-p
What kind of batteries do you use in these things? I have a 3.3 megapixel cam, but the thing eats through Duracells like they're Popeye Cigarettes.

well if you think those close ups suck ass then i cant wait to see what you call macro.
Shit! that camera costs near to a grand over here, you must have paid at least $1500 over there?
The human pictures do look good, nice detail and colour as you say. What sort of memory does that camera hold? Size/type?

cams bout 1k new, i got a steal and a 1/2 ...... $700 for the cam that was used for a few shots, literally. everything was still wrapped in plastic and sealed.
:)
and my lens is ~ 600 USD that i picked up used and in perfect condition for 300.
my macro lens should be here soon so i can actually take some pics of flowers wort h posting.
ophecks, are you using REGULAR batteries for your camera? or are you using Nickle metal hydride.... i sure hope you arent using regular batteries you woudl put in like, a cdplayer or anything like that, cause those batteries arent made for cameras.
if yer cam takes AA batteries, use nickle metal hydrides, and get the rechargable ones. true, you hvae to wait till they are fully exhausted before recharging em (stupid memory effect) but they will last.

Yup. Normal everyday run of the mill rechargeables. I didn't know what to pick up... I don't use my camera often, so it's not been too big a deal. I want to start lugging it around with me and taking pictures of the mundane, so I'll need some heavy duties. Thanks for the heads up.
