used to love em "back in the day", don't listen to them much
nowadays but if you've just discovered them it might be also
worth checking out "This Mortal Coil" who used many of the
same musicians.

I've recently rediscovered TMC's "Filigree and Shadow" album
which isn't bad, a little too close to the art wank side of
things for me but it does have some nice tunes on it.

Wonderful stuff, but I've listened it into the ground so it
doesn't have the same effect on me any more. This one time I
got wicked toasted and lit candles and lay on the floor
listening to Cantara and the tension almost killed me. You
have to listen to that track toasted to get the full effect.

Love them, especially Into the Labyrinth. ''The Ubiquitous
Mr. Lovegrove'' got me hooked on them initially, so that
album is special. Their album covers are suitable for
framing.

oh ye, DCD are one of the best bands i've ever came across,
one of those bands you never get tired of. Lisa Gerrard solo
is awesome too, have you checked her albums out?

They played "Fortune Presents Gifts Not According To The
Book" on the radio the other day, Chile has the best radio
in the world.

I always play the more traditional sounding songs with lisa
gerrard as the main singer and skip the rest. Too bad their
albums are so short. I've heard Dead can Dance on the radio
many times as well, not on regular commercial programs
though...

I was just suprised over here how good the radio was, there
are some broadly alternative stations that play across the
board pop to, well Dead can dance, where the only criteria
is good music from any age. I think in dear old blighty
we're too worried about categorisation, context, current
musical trends and most of our greastest musical treasures,
which other countries would hold as national heroes, tend to
get hidden away as some embarrasment in case anyone at home
should discover them.
