Should a silly argument change your feelings for a "new
love"?
mmmmmm... don't think so!!!! it should make it stronger!!!
Shouldn't it?

Is there another woman involved?

it doesn't. it just becomes bizarre and turns into hate
clouded emotions filled with anxiety, lust, and a sense of
extreme detachement from whatever it was that you loved
about the person in the first place.

It depends how similar you are to each other and how
selfish, how emotionally attached to each other -- in other
words, there are plenty of factors at work.

i think it can be very varied...there are no patterns for
this...

It's a thin line between love and hate,
It's a thin line between the trigger and the finger on a
thirty-eight.

There's, what, 3.4-3.5 billion other males on the planet,
many of which are more interesting/smarter/better
looking/wealthier/better spellers/more compatible with
whomever than you are (''you'' being nobody in particular...
it's all of us). Spending 6 decades with somebody isn't
natural, anyway. And like Paul E. Dangerously said, there's
so many variables and factors, it's unfathomable. It's very
daunting. I'm extremely jaded when it comes to love, so I'm
biased when it comes to this subject... I always expect the
worst when I see ''I've found my soulmate!'' topics and the
like, for example. I don't congratulate, I speculate.

personally i like the idea of spending 6 decades with same
person.

6 WHOLE decades? Won't 5 suffice? Don't you want to spend
your twilight years boinking all the ol' dolls in your
retirement home?

Me, I'll be aiming higher... the nurses.

hahaha...i was being serious actually...both pairs of my
grandparents are married for about 50 years, and it seems to
work out fine for them...i guess you get used to a person,
and it's nice to be around someone who cares about you...

I suppose you're right, in some/most cases. I personally
don't like observing my (perfectly happy)
aunts-uncles/grandparents. Just so... generic and
unappealing. But I guess it's better than most alternatives,
and it would be nice and comfy knowing at least SOMEONE
gives a shit about you regardless of what happens.

care about me whatever happens... hé hé. Come on dude...

i did. that happened. we were friends, and i fell in love.
that was, um...9 years ago. wow.

i've forgotten about him, pretty much. but every once in a
while, like when i'm washing dishes or driving or something,
i'll think about him. and i still remember exactly how much
it hurt to be rejected.

i'm pretty sure i'll never feel that way about anyone ever
again. but i'm cool with that. it's nice to know the heart
works that way...it can devote itself to someone and want to
stay there forever.

dequalsrxt> that is so incredibly depressing. holy shit.

chihiro> are you mocking me?
if not... thank :)

why should that be depressing? i think it's cool actually.
i don't feel sad about it...only when i think about him,
which isn't really that often. and it's a good kind of
sad...just remembering the good times and missing him and
all that.

i meet people all the time who say they've never been in
love. i feel lucky.

it's sad knowing the one person who you truly loved, and you
know that noone could ever compare to them again, doesn't
feel the same way about you.
it's awfully fekkin sad.

offline Chihiro from twins land on 2004-06-17 18:47 [#01245289]

and i agree with that Tragedy... there is no modern
romance... the ancient one stays alive... It is the most
beautyfull one... I can't imagine what modern would be like

offline dequalsrxt from Los Angeles (United States) on 2004-06-17 18:49 [#01245291]

anyway, to answer your question chihiro, i think that love
has to involve conflict...the right kind of conflict.

a silly argument shows that you are still individuals.
that's important. but if you're constantly arguing, or if
the conflict is deep, that might not be good.

offline tragedy from Gloucester (United States) on 2004-06-17 18:51 [#01245293]

Don't hold on
And go get strong
Well, don't you know
That there is no
Modern romance

Time
Time is gone
It stops, stops who it wants
Well, I was wrong
It never lasts
And there is no
Well, this is no
Modern romance

And time
Time is gone
It never lasts
Stops who it wants
Well, I was wrong
It never lasts
This is no
There is no
Modern romance
There is no modern romance
This is no...modern romance
there is no, there is no....

that right there is my 2 cents. good luck.

it's better to have loved and lost
than to never have loved at all

cheesy but true

sure, it was sad at the time, really painful. that goes
away. you're left with memories, mostly good hopefully.
and a sort of longing feeling that's not good or bad.
