this track rules.

anybody know of anything similar in style (to the
song/album)? in fact, any of bola's other albums anything
like fyuti; the few i've heard seem quite different.

"Soup" is a better album than "Fyuti" and that's saying a
lot, it's more coherant with less fillers.

I'm a pretty big Bola fan, the closest I've ever heard to
his sound are the S.H.A.D.O albums on Fax which I'd go as
far to say are better than Bola, they have that mix of
beautiful old school melodic synth with fantastic
intelligent future percussion.

Unfortunatly these albums are probably as rare as rocking
horse poo poo nowadays.

Other alternatives are any of the H.I.A stuff (who is one
half of S.H.A.D.O and Ochre.

I think "fyuti" is better. tighter in style.

Oh and Peter Benisch's stuff is sort of similar, especially
"Waiting for Snow" which again is gonna be pretty hard to
find, good luck :)

"Fyuti" has a slightly cleaner production with more advanced
percussion but "Soup" has better tunes and is more of a
"journey" IMO.

i agree, it gives more scope for imagination of weird and
wonderful landscapes of baron wastelands and peaceful
emptiness

Oh and let's not forget Jello (Bola's side project) which
isn't bad either, slightly deeper and less melodic but still
worth a listen..

I dislike Jello.

awful singing. :(

Yeah the vocal tracks aren't too hot on Jello's album but
there is one really nice piano piece, a couple of really
funky numbers and a bouncy/pretty chill out track so I got
my money's worth, it would have made a better e.p. than
album though.

I wasn't too hot on "Soup" when I first heard it (though I
loved "Forcassa 3"), I got it for Xmas though, six months
later I was hooked, Bola is a definite Summer artist.
