I think a lot of people today like rap as dance music... like really, the rap that you hear on the radio, and tv and stuff is pretty much pop rap... it's dance music... people listen to it because it's catchy... and really, what are most of the people in this "pop" rap talking about? How much money they have, how good their particular rhymes are, etc, etc... that music gets on my nerves... I admit, I'm not a huge rap fan, but I know that there is good rap music around... The Roots are excellent, Outkast is really good, etc, etc... |

I did a track where i just made a text to speech program say all the gangsta slang words i know really fast, and put it on top of a silly beat. like; Fuckyouniggabitch,why younot be sucking my dick fuckshitter.... and so on. :) i hate rap music. odb is ok i guess. |

ODB? Not too hot a musician, imo. Outkast sound real nice, very soulful delivery. I like them for this, but I can't take too much of them becuase as creative as they are, they're pimp rappers and that gets on my nerves. If somebody wants to sleep with numerous women it's all fine and dandy, but I could are less and it's a pretty lame topic to make music out of. Granted their lyrics contain much less slut rhyme then many others. Too $hort is another of the pimp rappers I can handle on occasion (but would never buy or download). He does his lyrics in a story telling style with bits of humor here and there that you gotta appreciate. |

HAHA! That's my new favorite joke, totally serious. Sage Francis is Sage Francis. He might be on the Def Jux label, or Anticon. I dunno. I've seen him live and have a couple tracks. Style... he's way underground. White guy, which usually has a pretty big influence on style. I can't really describe him, he's rapped about his growing up surrounded by a bunch of mullet wearing hockey kids who listen to metal, and being the only hiphop head in his neighborhood. You should just download some stuff if you're interested. |
