is what im using in fruityloops
do i have to link every channel to the plugin again or can i link to one plugin, that would make sense since i have all these instruments in one tab
because with three channels the sound becomes too fucked, even with my relatively new soundcard

Link to the one plugin and you just send the midi information to different channels. I dunno if you can do that in FL but it's how you do it in Cubase etc.

Yeah that's one of the big problems in FL - one channel = one plugin. The routing is not terribly flexible.

or how
anyhow: desbo/horse told me to up my buffer length, that worked, will see up to how many channel
so my submission to xltvibes 13 may be pretty minimalistic

for the problem you are having with doing multiple channels of the same plugin, i would suggest doing whatever you need to do for a single channel - render it to a wav - do the same for the next portion of the song using the plugin - and then just throw in the wavs of the samples/patterns/whatever - then sequence those as you want - it will save a ton of cpu if you arent going to be doing a whole lot of different channels of the same plugin

Why are you using that edirol bullshit anyway? Do you really want to sound like mister general midi? Get some decent free plugins like Synth1 and Polyiblit. Polyiblit has no builtin effects so it sounds a little dry but a touch of chorus and echo makes it scream like a bastard.
BTW, Floops rolls back the volume of any plugin in it. Go to a channel's settings "misc" tab and boost that volume control to 109% or thereabouts. (there may also be a separate volume setting in the Edirol thing, I dunno)
This, incidentally, is why people wrongly believe that Floops has lower sound quality - at a lower volume, we perceive less bass and treble - this is called the equal loudness principle.
Most people make up for the lower volume by compressing the shit out of their Floops channels, which sounds bad. Then they blame it on Floops when all they had to do was boost the channel's misc volume! I really think Imageline should post that information prominently in the help or in an FAQ because the "FL's quality sucks" myth is annoying.

I should add, though, that all the samples that come with FL are at 0db so you don't necessarily want to boost their volume or they'll clip.

You know the channel settings palette that pops up when you click on a channel? You know how there are little boxes that say plugin, misc, func? Click on "misc". in the levels adjustment section there's a volume control. When you turn it, the volume percent appears in the notification area on the upper right, just under file, edit, channels etc. Turn it so it says 109%. Hold down the ctrl key if it turns too fast.

Oh yea, about mp3 - export your song as a wav file and use Lame to encode it to mp3.

Remember to export with "linear" interpolation if you're using non-FL generators like the Edirol thingumy. That way your exported wav will sound the same as your live mix.
Any interpolation higher than linear will change the sound of your mix and it only improves the sound of the FL sampler channels, and then only if you're messing with the pitch and speed.

Great sounding mix on that track. Needs more variation though - try modulating to Db or something - and maybe add some timpani.

Yeah, percussion in classical is like a powerful spice - you just need a second of bum pum bum pum maybe twice in the piece, and the second time it comes around the listener will have been anticipating it, but no more or it's lame.

bump: anyone? FLstudio: set high quality for plugins? the help explains it uses a high quality setting of the plugin so prolly i could just as well set the plugin on high quality and if it doesnt have such a feature it's useless to switch it on in floops. but since this plugin doesnt have this feature im not sure.
