Song Title?

It is finally time to anwer the age old question. What
comes first for you music makers, the song, or the song
title?

The song, the title is not important.......

the herbs, the song, the title, the pony

Which came first, the chicken, or the egg?

Title - A song title will just come to me and then ill
think, hell yeah im gonna make a song now.

Yeah that's right. A great title will inspire a good song if
you make a picture in your mind of what the title suggest to
you and then make the music to go with it.
A great tune without a title makes you think of a great
title for it in the same kind of way.
Therefore a good title always means the song should be good
either way.
I think...

for me, if i come up with the name, then i get certain
sounds in my head. i have no musical experience, therefore
making songs off names is difficult.

most of my songs are untitled.

i get names from the way the song sounds. "death of a
viking" "cloptic beats" "coming home" "dead crabs on the
beach"

i do things the other way around...
make the song, then listen to it a couple of times then
whatever the song reminds me of or sounds like is what the
title shall be.

le fin.

Speaking from a non-electronic viewpoint... it depends.
Me and my friends made up ten albums worth of song
titles by being stoned picking up on amusing phrases....
then I joined a stoner/punk band and used a lot of em and
wrote songs around em. But as a guitarist, it all depends...
a title might inspire a riff, or vise versa...

Alot of our song titles come from some dumb sources like the
movie Kazaam with shaq! In one of his raps he says
something like, "my name, squareoctagenerial". So we
thought that was cool and used it. Oh, and then there is
Septopuss but that is a different story altogether ;P

well, first I put the video in, and make sure I have a
towel... then I haul my pants and stuff down, and make sure
I'm comfortable in my seat... then I press play, and...
ummm, OHHHH, song Titles... uhhh, sorry...

i usually come up with song titles and songs
seperately...i'll see or think up some phrase and think
"that would make a neat song title.." and ill remember it so
when i actually finish a song ...i'll go through the list in
my head and pick the title that best fits the song..
other times i'll finish a song and look through the
dictionary or something for ideas
