woah, i just learned something hella badass in firefox. the %s parameter for bookmarks allows you to pass values to any page that accepts variables in it's URL. for instance: set www.google.com/search?q= %s as your bookmark, and give it a keyword [gg for instance]... then, whenever you want to do a google search for porn just type gg porn and you're off! it works for imdb, amazon, it'd even work on xltronic. |

a new version is available, and despite it's new default theme it is nice! also, for a little speed boost, type into the location bar. (this will show you a blue zillion settings)... find the network.http area and change the following variables: 1.) network.http.pipelining = true 2.) network.http.pipelining.firstrequest = true 3.) network.http.pipelining.maxrequests = (put this up to 8) 4.) network.http.proxy.pipelining = true this sped up browsing significantly on my two machines at home. |
