Wanna get high on 2002-01-10 21:41 [#00068203]

people who bash trance and rave music forget the effect it
has on some people and the effect it has it on the
electronic music scene itself.

trance had major life changing effects on me. im forever
grateful.

on the one hand, I was first introduced to electronica
through trance, and therefore owe the genre some sort of
debt. However the fact remains that the vast majority of
trance is absolute shit.

morg said it best

I might add that the relative non extreme nature of trance,
compared to Aphex or someting, makes it a nice gateway to
the good s***

i don't think it's not extreme. in its own direction it can
be very extreme. i can speak from experience. it's just
not what you are looking for that you find in afx.

Bogus on 2002-01-11 06:16 [#00068311]

i've never liked trance (in general) but i did like aphex on
first listens.

AFX has actually made a trance (or what the hell you call
it) track on one of his analouge bubblebath releases but its
not wack like all the other trance shite.

anyone remember a Harthouse compilation from around '93 or
so....? It was like hard trance or something- I used to have
it, lost it, forgot what it was called, want it back!!!

Ouakha from the Third Circle of Hell on 2002-01-11 10:28 [#00068383]

Harthouse did a lot of compiliations. I think I still have 2
or 3 on CD somewhere but I may have given them away as my
taste changed direction. Will see...
